Those mini cooper works are great fun to drive with or without traction control. I borrowed my mums while my car was - often - in the garage.

Not bad for a wee car.

I'm sure it will be great. I was lucky enough to get a road test new twingo on the Ascari circuit and a whole weekend in the south of Spain. If you ask me it's one of the best cars ever produced.

Test a modified car? Isn't that always going to be better than standard and largely irrelevant? Or are litchfield modified cars going to be the new quoted standard of the dismayed Subaru owner?

Didn't hear him say it but the new Mini Cooper S moved from a supercharger to turbo with the new generation.

I think tests of modified cars are fairly relevant myself. For example remapped new model WRX V remapped MKV Golf GTi DSG would have interested me.

For the purposes of TV magazine programmes I think modified cars aren't really relevant though IMO.

What stopped Subaru putting this into production?

http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive...ncept-4-lg.jpg

Maybe simply the costs?

Either way, they missed a trick by not delivering something like it ..... IMO

Well i'll still be looking in to getting one, assuming the test drive goes okay. Still ticks all the boxes which count for me up to now.

Even after yev gone quiet.

You sometimes pop up with good ones.

This was a good one.

Where did you see it & why didn't Subaru go with this??

Stunning.

What a joke! I thought this program was ok until now. New wrx sti gets 3mins slot time of abuse. Tiff drives it around a track, then has sprinkler systems makes a complete swimming pools of the track. Then the **** complains about understeer, oversteer. I think an anphibion vehicle, let alone a car, would have struggled to go around there faster. You can tell which car company has put the most advertising sponsership money into this program. Ford or ford or ford. They even put two old cars against each other both fords? Why? And by the way did you know ford are bringing out a new fiesta! It doesn't matter that this car is ****. Fifth gear will say it is the dogs b*llocks when it comes out because they are a set of c*nts, who get paid to say things at the end of the day.

I would have prefered to see an evo x and an sti going around the track in the dual race. Instead we get a clio with no a/c and a chipped mini.:wonder

wasn't the best review tho was it.

what did it tell us??

the cars responses are improved when in S# mode.
bit obvious really as thats what its supposed to do

and the DCCD doesn't make a massive difference regardless of the setting...we knew that any way.

oh yeah and the car can both understeer and oversteer on a skid pan....pretty obvious stuff again

what about how it drives? how does it feel under hard cornering? does the steering feel vauge or its full of feeling and confidence inspiring?
does the car tend to understeer like the previous models?
is the power delivery smooth and does it pull to the red lineor run out of steam after 6K RPM????
whats it like on fuel?
is it comfortable on the road in general use?

who knows? at least we know it can be made oversteer on a skid pan and the s# mode works

That's what was being asked nearly 12mths ago when that pic first came up..

It is still a valid question though, surely if it's designed from scratch the cost wouldn't be any different..? It's not like that concept (which I think is wonderfully ) is really radical is it..!

It confirms what most people are starting to realise. subaru have lost the plot and made a **** car.

all imho, of course (but it's well known that I'm not a fan of the new car! )

If it's a flop there will be some BIG bargains about ....... and Subaru will have to stop penny pinching on the equipment levels!

Give us Front Fogs, Smoked Rear Glass and Sat. Nav. as standard!!

It's a twenty five grand car! Penny pinching! Would have love to have seen a hundred grand car go around spinning around in the paddling pool.

The equivalent evo would cost you sat nav guided by from nasa, front fog lights bright enough to light up the world and still enough to book yourself a holiday to skegness!

the review was ****e. got one myself and to be honest I thinks it brilliant doesnt matter what that bender Tiff said or did no car is gonna perform very well in that much water now are they looked quite good drifting around but 3 mins for him to tell all the good and bad points was no where near enough.
