exactly, he drove like an idiot and caused an accident, if i had to serve a 15 month prison term i would get sacked too.

I would have a problem with any witness who said "he was doing 120 mph", the reason being that the great majority of people in this country will never ever have seen anyone travelling at the speed on the public highway!

I know what it's like to travel well in excess of 100 mph but if I were standing outside the car watching someone else, I wouldn't dream of trying to guess their speed other than to say, "Chr*st, THAT was quick!"

There were a lot of dodgy things with this case - the witness was some woman who said he was 'driving at 120mph' - how could she tell ? how many of us can accurately tell how fast a car is going just by seeing it ? The fact he was in a stickered up Impreza with loud exhaust probably made the witness think the car was going faster than it was.

Also, the road in question was the heads of the valleys road, which is notoriously bad - there is no way anyone would drive at 120 on it unless they had a death wish. Most of it isnt safe to do 60 on.

The judge based his assessment of the drivers 'lunatic driving' on him doing 120mph, which wasnt proved, and frankly sounds like complete BS.

If he was doing 60, then it may have been a bit too fast for the conditions and stretch of road, but was within the speed limit and is hardly driving like a lunatic. I wonder if the opinions would have been the same had he been driving the same speed in a Fiesta ? I think a lot of assumptions were made from looking at the type of car.

But regardless of that, there is no way he could keep his job as nobody with criminal records are allowed to teach in schools anymore.

If he was actually within the speed limit, but was driving too fast for the road conditions and his crash caused that poor bloke to have to be in a wheel chair, he is just as guilty and deserves all the resulting trouble he has now.

No complaints there - he broke the law and lost his job. He wouldnt have got the job in the first place had he been in jail before he applied.
It sickens me that sportsmen and pop stars are allowed to continue in their careers after a jail term
It goes with the territory - behave like a scumtard get treated like a scumtard. You cant expect to walk back into your old job and carry on like nothing has happened.
"Hi, welcome back Mr X... We've kept your desk warm, your favourite brew mug is where you left it. How was your "sebbatical"... Any **** scarring? No Mr X, you dont need to put razor blades in your toothbrush here, that's what the pupils do" etc...

This is a particularly dangerous bit of road and the head would have known this so deserves all he gets.

Tragically another two died there this weekend.

I dont have any sympathy for him. He has lost his job after leaving prison because he has been struck off: the school dont have much choice in that situation, do they?
