Hi Paul : Thanks for the PM and link and thanks also for the good wishes. I would not have seen your excellent report without the link because I am almost flat out at present with the new workload from the banner advertising etc. I must say that this is one of the best and most informative threads I have read on Scoobynet in a long, long time.
You have achieved a very impressive torque figure in relation to the mods you have carried out and the boost you are running and equally impressive is the broad spread of torque from relatively low down which will make the car a pleasure to drive. Five degrees extra ignition is huge in anybody's book so your torque figures are no great surprise.
Because of the claims regards STi 8 TMICs on Classic cars I fitted one to my STi 3 Wagon purely to evaluate the benefits myself. It also has a digital ACT guage so there is no arguing with the figures. Benefits however is a bit of a misnomer because I am now seriously thinking about taking it off. At only 366 bhp it does not control temperatures as well as a front mount and I have made the same observations as yourself regards it acting as a heat sink during idling periods resulting in flat performance for a short while once traffic starts to move again. Had I known the work involved I would simply have fitted one of my Hybrid front mounts in the first place. The front mount takes well under a day to fit but because the TMIC was a first trial it was 3 full days work to make it fit professionally.
I don't understand how the claimed benefits from running the TMIC on a Classic gained credence.
I have also just removed the BOV with no apparent down sides so far and that will work on some TMIC cars subject to turbo and TMIC in use. I remember that Cossies used to work perfectly well without a BOV so I guess this might be a coming trend on Snet but it will not work in all circumstances.

My main motivation was for fitting the Hybrid was engine safety/efficiency, not the pursuit of more power etc, but the surprising thing about this whole exercise has been that the FMIC has resulted in marked improvements in the one area that some claimed it would have a detrimental effect on i.e. drive-ability. The torque increase was a particular surprise as I know folks that are running bigger turbos than I, with the same/more boost who have produced lower torque figures.
Continued exposure has suggested that the dump valve removal has made the car more responsive to on-off throttle transitions, with the possible downside that one needs to be a bit more sensitive/smooth with the accelerator to avoid more jerky progress The sound alone is worth it though.
The only other downside I've encountered is that it is possible to induce mild compressor surge in sudden WOT applications in 5th gear. However, this is probably to be expected with the VF35 which is prone to surge.
I hope that I'm going to be able to report back in a year and dispel the SN myth that all VF turbos won't tolerate being used without a DV.

Glad all is well ns04 does sound a fun drive. Was wondering if i would need the map tweaking if i removed the oe dump valve from the frontmount. Has the controller help spool?

To be honest mate, I don't know; best ask your mapper.
The real benefit of the controller is that I now have higher boost in 1st 2nd and 3rd and better rates of boost climb. I can't give you an objective comparison as regards to boost threshold as I don't have the figures, but subjectively it seems marginally lower.
Oh, and no pesky drive by boost cut anymore
