Sara, suggest to edit and remove post nr. 29 to remove a potentially incriminating word.

Also don't listen to anyone who says you need a court order for a copy of a tape. My barrister sorted out a copy before the law could do their best to stop us getting it. TFL will try harder than the police/CPS however. Get in lively to stop them 'losing it'

Cyprus scooby says "P.S. Bus companies and drivers are w*nkers and never admit liability! "

My brother is a bus driver , he was a driving instructor with a very good pass record. He is a very consciencious driver and is not a w8nker.
Please don't generalise.

Sorry to hear of your problem Sarah, but seeing life from the other side nowadays as it were, there are plenty of bad car drivers out there too.

I do hope you get some sort of closure on this matter. Sounds like the usual suspects are passing the buck once again.

You might not but you wouldn't believe how many would. The stories I hear would make your hair stand on end.

Does look nasty indeed. But was informed by a couple of bus driver friends the following...

They are told NOT to stop at the scene of an accident unless there is an injured party. Apparently for 2 reasons. Its not their place to discuss liability, and secondly fear for personal safety. Instead they are meant to report it back at the garage. A garage somewhere has a red and yellow bus and possibly a drivers statement.

Also, if a car it to turn infront or pull out infront NOT to brake suddenly. Hitting the car is the easier option and allows their insurers to cover injured parties on the bus. If the driver brakes, missed the car and injurs passengers the bus company is liable for the claims.

In short, dont mess with buses.
Sara, what number was the bus, or can you give me a location on Google Maps as to where it happened. If your not local, I can pop over there and see which company operates the said bus
Hope you get sorted.

the bus was stationary at at stop and that is where the bus lane ended, i had to turn left as the lights had changed. i had been there long enough for a driver to see me before he pulled away.
even if buses arent meant to stip, he still did not report it to anyone when he got back. he cannot have failed to see me as i drove right past the front of the bus

snazy, i was in Lambeth London in Durham Street, at the junction of Kennington Lane, 5.30ish Pm on Wednesday. i think the double decker was all red.

so you cut across the front of the bus when the collision happened? If so you may want to keep quiet about finding the bus as our insurance may end up paying for their repairs a swell.

So you were the one changing lanes? Just saying it doesn't sound as cut and dried to me as you were making out. I wasn't there though so could well be getting the wrong impression.

it was rush hour traffic and i needed to turn left. the bus lane ended just before the lights so i indicated left as the bus was not moving, and started to pull into the lane. when the lights changed the bus drove forward as if i wasn't there. the front of my car was already pointing left when he hit me, hense the damage starts half way along my car. if you cant understand that then tough ****

the bus was going straight ahead.

the way i see it it this..a bus cant just assume the traffic is where he last saw it and drive on regardless. if he had checked his mirrors or indeed looked out of the front window he would have seen me

Ok but I'd have money on if it was called into question the driver would say you cut across him putting the liability on to you. Unless he came out and said he drove into you I cant see how you'd win the claim. 50/50 at best. IMHO.

hopefully when Sidcup investigations unit look at it all will be revealed

i am starting to get worried though.....you never know, what you thought you did might not be what you did

and if i am right, i wonder what will happen to the driver?

Cant see the bus lane on the map....
durham street se11 - Google Maps

Might be looking in the wrong place though.
Sounds like a tough one to be honest, but best of luck, and in the meantime, if you need a good bodyshop

Just trying to get this straight in my head. Been driving on that bit of road for the past 8 years, almost daily.
