Thanks for all the positive responses, it helps me stay motivated to keep improving it and also helps keep my lady off my back!
I'm gonna crank the power once I get the suspension dialed in, goal is 300-330 whp on pump, 330-350 on 100 oct.
The mirrors I found used on a forum classified section (rs25.com).
Just got the 4-pot 2-piece rear brakes, I'll have some pictures posted after I install them. I'm trying to get my nephew out on track, so I'm gonna sit out the Jan. session so I can help him get going. It will give me more time to test out the new brakes, and some new suspension & alignment settings before I get back out on track again. should be ready to go back on track in Feb.

this house is weak sauce compared to the new crib were moving into.
We have 8 people living here now, so things are kinda cramped. Think 'Real world' with a half dozen pubescent kids, it's nuts.
New house is bigger and on more land, so we can spread out a little.

It all automated and built like a fortress and it's five minutes from the beach, I'm very excited. We have our own tennis court and car wash bay!

Thanks!
Here's a few cool shots I took of my RS and a R34
It's not making alot of progress lately, been spending all my time with my baby girl, but it's slowly becoming more, 'complete'.
Looking forward to getting back to the track Sat.
A few shots of 'the rivals'

I didn't really get a chance to update my last post, Been ridiculously busy getting everything sorted out for the big move this summer. I did 'work' the left rear fender, but STILL getting rubbing, it's frustrating. But I just went at it again Sunday. I'd like to say it's gone, I'm gonna test drive it sometime this week.
Also 're-badged' the Subi; I was getting a little tired of telling everyone what it is, and I think the red 'RS' badge goes nicely with the red brakes & tow hook. Once I pick up some sponsors I'll probably do a red graphics theme, thinkin metallic red might look pretty wild. I also tossed a chrome 'STI' badge in the grill for ****'s and giggles. Trying to give it a little more, 'character'.![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
Had a night event this past Saturday, was a big event, tied into the Modified tuner shootout. Great crowd for such poor weather, long day, but a lot of fun.
Drove up to Las Vegas the day before and picked up a set of 18X9 Advan RGII's with some 255/40/18 RE-01R tires for My nephews' '06 STI. they Look really sharp, I'll post pictures in a few days.
I entered the Time Attack with hopes of possibly qualifying for the Super Lap battle this year if I made a good time, but I don't think I made it this year.
Track was cold and wet, I didn't get the tires up to temp on the warm up lap; My brake fluid was getting a little worse for wear and wasn't performing the way I'd like it too (Currently running super blue; switching to Motul 600; Then switch to Castrol after the summer) It was raining all through the night before the event, and also rained through out the day. Add to that the tire rubbing and it made for a tense run, I'll get it sorted out before the next event. I know I could have shave 4-5 seconds at least if I had pushed it harder, but I didn't want to make a costly mistake and not have a ride home. I saw at least a dozen cars spin or go off track through out the day, a few right in front of me. Made for an exciting time; watching High HP car with crazy LSD's in the rain on a wet dragstrip with a 5/8 of a mile straight into the first corner made for some intense moments, to say the least. ![Luxhello](images/smilies/luxhello.gif)
One of my favorite events of the year, I got to meet Tarzan Yamada (and his translator, we were the only two in the whole place rockin' Hawaiian shirts!
) and watch him run a record-setting 1:02 in the Crawford STI around FIR main; Previous record was dynocomps' STI with a 1:04-5(?). I think it was his first time in that car as well, amazing driver! ![Notworthy](images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
here's some pictures from the event.

A short blog about the event; with links to some great pictures
NASA AZ Blog Archive April 11th Wraps Up
Here's a video clip I managed to make it in. It was of the first run of the day, filmed from a BMW M3 with Nitto NT-01 tires (Size unknown) I have a passenger and running on Dunlop Z1 star specs. It was raining all night before, and didn't let off until a few hours before we hit the track, so it was still kinda slick. I was giving my nephew Kenny a ride around the track, since it was his first time at this track.
with a time line of events
On Track - BMW M3 - Front Facing on Vimeo
0-:30 sec - Checkin out my rear-end on Grid
:30 sec - 1:10 - driving through the hot pits
1:10 - 4:20 - enter track, warming up brakes, and two warm-up laps
(2:58) Stupid Vette driver making illegal pass on standing dbl. yellow flag,
5:49 - Let Redneck Vettes pass so they could, 'battle it out'
6:42 starting to open it up a little more
7:10 Flubbed a shift
7:50 BYE-BYE camera car!
13:10 Yellow flag, Evo blew off intercooler hose
I tend to drive a little more conservative last couple events since I can't afford to replace my tires until after I get a new job; hopefully sometime this summer.
And here's a couple links to a couple pictures I think turned out really good.

THANKS!
I won an event, got first in my Time Attack class!![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here's a blog about the event
NASA AZ Blog Archive May 2-3 Event Wraps Up
Car ran great, no rubbing to speak of. Excited to finally be moving, looking forward to cooler temps, It's already been over 100* F here in AZ, it's still around 69* F in San Diego!
Here's a few pictures from the event.
I'm now in DE4, but I didn't feel like changing my '305' numbers. Until I get more power![Lol](images/smilies/lol.gif)

Still have a busy summer ahead of me, so I don't know what I'm going to do for track time, I may start hitting up some car shows to get some publicity and hopefully help with the sponsorship path I'll need if I'm going to compete with the big boys.
I'm planning on getting my Racing License some time either late this year or early next year, depending on what's going on with my Family and work. I'd like to finish of the interior a little more, and possibly add some more safety equipment.
I still need to spend some more time looking over what all is needed in a 'Race' car to pass tech. I'd like to keep this car streetable, so I don't want to go too crazy with it and not be able to enjoy it on the backroads or beer runs.
I won an event, got first in my Time Attack class!
![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here's a blog about the event
NASA AZ Blog Archive May 2-3 Event Wraps Up
Car ran great, no rubbing to speak of. Excited to finally be moving, looking forward to cooler temps, It's already been over 100* F here in AZ, it's still around 69* F in San Diego!
Here's a few pictures from the event.
I'm now in DE4, but I didn't feel like changing my '305' numbers. Until I get more power

Moved in to a nicer house in a nicer neighborhood, I wanted a nice climate to raise my daughter and do a lot of outdoor activities as she gets older. Weather in San Diego is much nicer than Phoenix!

So I installed a Beatrush Alternator pulley and Power Enterprises belt, it's lighter than stock and still retains the 'factory-look' I'm going for.

Also working on relocating the rear bumper mounts; they tend to rub under suspension compression.
Going to use Dzus Fittings with custom brackets,
![](http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h78/john25rs/New%20project%20II%20pictures/rearbumpermount001.jpg)
And move the mount further towards the rear; somewhere in the area of the brown tab in this picture:
![](http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h78/john25rs/New%20project%20II%20pictures/rearbumpermount002.jpg)
Going to pick up a CF driveshaft next week, help reduce the rotational weight on the drivetrain.

Not really. It could be, If I modified a couple more mounting points, but there is no real reason or need for the rear bumper to be quick release. ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm doing it to keep the bumper from sagging at the upper edge.![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
At High speeds and lateral loads the suspension travel causes the sidewall of the rear tires to make slight contact with the current factory mount location. which makes a very annoying and brief rubbing sound.
Since that's the only mounting point for the rear bumper in that area, it would flap in the breeze if it was not secured.
I'm simply going to trim it off with a Dremel, paint it to keep it from rusting, and installed the Dzus fitting further back get it out of the way of the tire.
Hopefully I can squeeze 245/35/18's under the factory rear sheet metal.
Will do!![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I picked up some Do-luck side skirts the other day,

going to get them color-matched soon.![Cool](images/smilies/cool.gif)
Also going to get a CF driveshaft next weekend.

I'll make sure to take a lot of pictures!
But I'm going to wait to do it until I get back from the Modball.![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Side skirts will look something like this:
![](http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2/doluck.jpg)
Thinking of possibly doing them in 2-tone.
have a few ideas for that:
-color match the whole thing and then use black vinyls on the lower lip portion
-painting the lower part black
-riveting a small strip of CF along the edge of the sideskirt.
or I'll just paint the whole thing grey.

I lost my phone at work the other day and some homeless man found it. Called my Womans' phone; Claimed he was 'Captain Ron, and he lived on a sailboat'. So I think it's gone for good. ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Returned home the other day from running with the Modball. It was the most fun I've had ever on that stretch of road. Found out the Subi hold the road great at 160MPH....All I'm gonna say about that.![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Got back from Beverly hills last night, Saw Gov. Schwartzenegger And Jay Leno Last night at my Gig, Leno was driving an Old Smoking Bugi.

here's a little video clip I took testing out my new Christmas present. I hope it works on the track.

I need to improve my video editing and commentary skills, but it takes time. ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
These are the wheels I've decided will be my next 'Street' wheels.
They don't offer any wider wheel options in a GC friendly offset for 5x100.![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Prodrive GC-05k Hyper silver 18X8"
![](http://t3hclap.com/Photos/Brands/Prodrive/ProdriveGC05k.jpg)
![Notworthy](images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
But it should be good enough on the street. Then the current wheels (GC-05f) will become track wheels and get some R-comps mounted to them.
![](http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/ab85/reid9_photo/Johns%2009%20car%20stuff/1stsummerlivininSDcars091.jpg)
Once I go full wide-body, I may get some wider, 18X9-9.5" with 255 or 265 tires for the track.
Then I'll upgrade the turbo to the HKS GT2835 twin-scroll and try and get 400 WHP outta the EJ207.![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I think the GC-05k's are a little lighter than my current wheels, and I think they're gonna look great on my car.![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
I just have to figure out where to get them from.....
