I know someone who shopped a benefit cheat, again absolutely nothing was done. And yet they spend a small fortune on advertising campaigns trying to get you to shop someone!

My last company did the same, provided the name and address of where this person was working (scum signed off on the sick with us as well as claiming for various benifits) and we provided pics of scum going in and out of the oither premesis - we got a private eye on the case.

Nothing done whatsoever.

The trouble is with politicians, we have the Namby Pamby, multicultural Labour (who incidentally send solidiers to bomb their pals), the Tories "might" be a bit better on Immigration but the BNP are just white supremacist sad little Hitler Worshippers, to be honest I think that despite the Zeig Heil's Hitler would have had them against the wall anyway, so there isnt much middle ground.

We need sensible immigration of people we need and want,deportation of those who misbehave, a fair share of the worlds genuine Asylum Seekers and sick, zero tolerance of anyone who enters the country illegally, straight back home if you arent meant to be here, other countries manage it why are we so pathetic ?

Dutch top tax rate is 52%. Mortgage tax relief means I get back every cent paid at that rate though and then some

As much as you seem to hate me, I am with you here. I would like to know the answers to those questions, as I don't think some of this was explained in the first thread, and again, an update has been given with no details to whether she is in fact illegal. Maybe that would have a bearing on the fact she is still here.

Well, my wife works for a company and this girl also works for the same company albiet a differnet branch. It's known in certain circles that this girl is working here illegally - I'm not too sure of the in's and out's, but I would guess that she has false documents. My wife is Brazilian and she knows from friends some of the scams used.

The girl was reported to the right authorities and they have her name and where she works. They've been informed of the probability of the false documents etc, etc, but it seems that they've choosen not to act on it.

This was reported to them maybe 2 months ago and the girl in question is still working in the same place.

Say she is here illegally, unless the company your wife works for pays cash in hand, how on earth is she manufacturing a NI number, or paying PAYE?

You can't, like, make those details up.

There are some dodgy people out there - what would you like, a NI card, or a passport, because I assure you, you can have either within a few days.

How long do you reckon before the employer would go back to the employee because the NI number they gave them "didn't work"

Try it for yourself. Next tiem you get a new job - give them a made up NI number. It doesn't work.

Youi can buy fake document, of course, but when you try to use them in the system you get found out almost immediatly - which is why if you were an illegal immigrant you would get a job being paid cash in hand, not get a job being paid PAYE.

So, either she is here legally (which given she has been reported and nothing has been done appears to be most likely)

Or, she is has pulled some form of jedi mind trick on her employer to ignore the fact the tax office has come back to them and said "we don't have this NI number or person on our records"

Or she is being paid cash in hand by the company.

Of course not - But was the tax issue was not the reason they were caught - Wasn't that to do with security license checks not checking for immigration status?

I mean if you don't appear as "existing" on tax records, when your company tries to pay you, then it will become immediatly obvious that there is a problem.

I cannot think of any company that would just think "oh well".

You raise a valid point, though.
