Bug Eyed Peas - Anth - Died Wednesday-RIP

A sad loss for the community I didn't know him well, only through his posts on here. He always came across as a decent bloke. As people have said, it's no age to die. My deepest sympathies to his family.

We were very shocked to learn about Ant passing away. He was my neighbour and a friend - he will be very sadly missed. My deepest condolences goes out to Angie and Ben. Rest in peace Ant.

How sad, I never knew him personally but I remember having some convos on here when Sara had her thread up, he was never one of the ones to say anything horrible and seemed really genuine and helpful. 40 is no age at all.
Condolences to his wife and family xx

I don't know the full ins and outs, but I got the text message last night about 12, from Sara. Apparently his heart gave out. I know he had been fighting cancer for a very long time and he was always so positive about it all.
He will be sadly missed. I met him at Elvington last year, what a fantastic bloke he was

Oh my dear god ...... I am truely shocked and saddened at that news , I still cant believe that he has gone and have just spoken to Lesley thinking it was all a bad joke...sadly not
Anthony (or Ant as that short name used to drive him mad ) was such a decent fellow and one of the true gents on the board and in real life.
I was privileged to meet both him and his lovely wife Angie and their son Ben last year at SSO and he was just as much fun and a live wire as he was on the forums.
Taking into account his terrible struggle with cancer and what is, I can only imagine, a real rocky road for his family, the man was simply dismissive of the disease eating away at him and just carried on as if nothing was wrong.
I still have various PM's from him, some sincere, some that just used to make me crease up in laughter. The last one was about organising a get together for all of his friends at this years SSO and how much he was looking forward to being there. The news today makes this all more the tragic, but it just shows how upbeat he was.
If anyone is organising a collection for flowers, please let me know and I hope one of the admins will make this thread more high profile.
It may not seem appropriate at this moment, but maybe a little meet up in his home town could be arranged, or some form of tribute at SSO.
My condolences go to Angie and Ben and his family, who I know he adored and lived for. I can hope that some of the comments on here, go a little way to remind them, just how much liked Anthony was.
His passing is our loss, nothing more , nothing less.
Chris

I can't say how sorry I am to hear this. I did not know that he was so seriously ill. He gave me a great deal of support with my own problems and I shall always be grateful for that.
My sincere comndlolences to his family.

i just saw this on the nysoc forums and thought it was a wind up.
cant believe it. anthony was a genuine guy with genuinely good intentions.
when i broke my scooby show virginity last year at the n.b.o. he came over with angie and ben and we must have talked for 30 minutes about nothing but waffle. he made me feel really welcome, and portrayed himself as a good un on here too.
i had no idea about his illness (as far as i knew he was in good health).
prayers and thoughts go out to his wife and son.

i remember meeting Ant in May last year when the Scooby Live was on, he was waiting at our hotel for when we arrived.
such a decent bloke, so kind and thoughtful
i spent the day wet miserable, until i found Angie and Ben, and caught up on all the gossip, great day in the end
in one way i feel terrible, as Ant was desperate for us all to meet up again this year....
i knew he had cancer again a while back but at the time i was unsure how it would go. i am so shocked that he has gone, and so fast
my thoughts are with Angie and Ben xx
rest in peace Ant

Ant
Hi all
Thank you all for your lovely posts on here. All I can say is that I am absolutely gutted and am in bits. I am trying to be so strong for my son but it is very difficult.
Ant suffered a lot in the last couple of weeks, we were told it was gastroenteritis, however they were wrong. Cancer had spread to his liver and after spending 4 nights in St James's a couple of weeks ago, thinks were looking up. He was due to start chemo last Thursday, however he did not get chance to do this.
In true Ant form, he was so worried about leaving me and Ben in a financial mess, as some of you will know he had his life insurance revoked when he got cancer a couple of years ago (something to do with a 30 day clause). To me money means nothing at this present time and I will have to deal with it when the time comes.
Ben is okish but is coming out with some classic lines that are killing me inside. He said to me this morning he didn't want a sad mummy.
He loved a lot of you guys and he loved his scooby, for me tho, I can't even get in it and it kills me just to look at it.
Thanks again.
Love Ange and Ben

I wasnt quite sure if you would post on here and I am glad you had your own username, because the sight of BEP appearing on here would have been just too much to take in.
I am sure your heart is gladdened by all the messages of well wishes and sympathy from the guys and girls on here and we can only hope that it goes in a small way to show you and ben, just how so many of us thought so well of Ant.
If there is anything us lot can do help just holler.
I am sure you are still coming to terms with the loss of Ant and all the other things to deal with , just dont be a stranger on the boards. We would all welcome you on here, like Ant was.
oh and one last thing....dont forget to keep the scoob clean, he will be miffed if he saw it dirty

Please Read
For those who knew Ant, I'm sure each and everyone would like to send their condolences to Angie and Ben.
Unless it's very specific or you are very close to Ange at this time can I respectfully ask that people refrain from PMing Ange in the short term to allow her and Ben the time to come to terms with their loss.
Further information will come out in due course.
Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
Al.

Very sad news indeed,
Ant was indeed a very nice gentleman, I am fortunate to have known him and spent some time both at club meets and scooby events passing the time of day, BEP was a regular in our quiet today section often trying to get a corner.
I offer our condolences and our thoughts too are with all Ants family and close friends especially Angie and Ben at this very sad time.
RIP Ant, aka, BEP
Sleep well my friend
Mick

Unfortunately never had the chance to meet Ant, like many only know him from SNet. Always helpful when people asked for advice, and he seemed like a genuine and friendly person.
Our thoughts are with his family.
