Well, they've all made it through the night and now have a surrogate mummy called Loki - a springer spanial
Apparently this is much better as now theu have something to snuggle and she cleans them - but they're still on the bottle - but a step in the right direction

Really sad that some of the pup's have'nt survived.

I may have missed a post earlier, but why are they being hand reared? Is the mother OK?

Basically, because mum was quite underweight after having them via c-section, whilst she ate alot through pregnancy, 10 pups took their toll and although she has milk, the vet told me that under no circumstances should the pups feed from her as she was too weak and could die!
Obviously, I'm not about to let that happen so bottles it was!!! Not at all ideal - a friend of ours, i found out last night, also had a litter of 9, hand rearing again and they too have lost 5!!!

Still, hopefully these ones will remain strong, and Loki's surrogacy will help them alot!

Now I understand.

Hope the rest of the pups are fine, I guess with every day they will get stronger and less at risk.

No new pics as yet - I am going up there this week so I'll take some new ones. The five remaining are doing well, so far so good at least! Seem to have quite a bit of interest for selling them, so thats good

Another update and once again, more sad news - we're down to three

The vet seems to think its Fading Puppy Syndrome - which doesn't give me much hope for the remaining!

Still, we keep our fingers crossed

I'm not that sure TBH. It just seems to take a hold and once one goes - the rest seem to follow. I've been up there today and the three remaining are doing really well and seem to be really strong - so everything needs to be crossed as we're not outta the woods yet

I went up to the kennels on Friday to see the remaining three. They were all getting SO big and chunky

Major incident in the early hours of saturday morning though because the house caught fire - thankfully everyone got out OK - it was only the three kids there because Gill and hubby were away for the weekend for their 25th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary present mum - the house burnt down

Puppies suffered a bit of smoke inhalation - but as said, everyone and ALL dogs, cat and puppies got out - just a bit shaken and some of the dogs are a bit traumatised.

Visited again today - more as a friend than the owner of pups and the house is in a bad way - structural damage too - offered to take the pups back but Chrissy was quite adamant that she was happy to keep hold for now
