This doesn't work. I tried it before, gave the time the person would be leaving, a description of the driver, location and car reg but the police didn't even bother turning out to check even though the pub in question was less than a minutes drive away from their station.

I should point out that the driver was not a friend, but someone who had tried to stitch me up.

I havent read the whole topic, got bored of people saying "doesnt matter if he's your best mate, you should call the cops".

You just dont do it.

Personally i'd insist anyone drinking round my place handed in their keys. Get drunk, walk home. Don't drink and you get your keys back at the end of the night. Job done!

If this guy thinks drink driving is ok, your not gonna stop him, your only duty is not to condone it.

To even consider shopping your best mate is wrong. You'd be no friend of mine.

Ban him from your night if he won't stop, that's it.....to call the police on him is just wrong and you shouldn't put yourself in a situation where it's a option if you cannot deal with it like a mate should.

Make your feelings clear and leave the rest to him.
