Do I sell the Scooby, what would you do?

I know just how you feel Snazy. I had an STi 1 which was in particularly good condition and I spent a great deal of time tweaking and tuning, getting the handling to absolute neutral by sorting the steering and about 300+ bhp too. It was a lovely car to drive.
I was in a similar position in that it was just too expensive to run and to be honest I was always worried about N0 3 big end failing since I did not know how well it had been looked after in the way it was driven before I had it. The cost of an engine rebuild was too much for me to consider.
I was very sorry to see it go, but as ever it was a matter of priorities and I feel a bit more confident about my present car which also does nearly 50% more MPG.
As ever you have to make your own decision, it is hard to do.

Sod it, im gonna sell it lol.
Not because I have to, just that it makes sense and allows me to do the things I want and need to do right now.
Advertised on PH and here on SN. Hoping to get as much as poss, as you do. So put it up for 13ish.
Was thinking about seeing if there is anywhere that buys cash, for a quick sale. Would take a bit of a drop if there was, depending on HOW much of a drop lol.

Not quite sure what labour laws you refer to, and to be quite honest it sounds like I know just as much about what you are talking about, as you do about my situation......
You are the weakest link...... you know the rest, you have no doubt heard it enough

Go and annoy someone else.
And for the record, YES, I believe I AM that valuable to my employer, im still there am I not ?
Now if you dont mind, get on with your own life instead of trying to fault others. If I know you, and you know about me, tell me about myself, if you dont..........

Klaatu
I dont know you or wish to know much about you, and would prefer if you took the same line with me.
I dont know what you are getting at on the thread, but whatever it is, its boring, insulting, and quite frankly none of your business, so please, go troll some other thread.

Careful sponger, you might get put under the microscope by a microscopic existance too!
In all honesty its not so much the being off work that is making me sell the car, its the whole mum being diagnosed, and realising there are more important things to be getting on with.
I will prob buy another new scooby in 09 anyway Just right now, I need to do other things with the money tied up in this one. Things that are none of peoples business........ Klaatu !!

Snazy, shame the car is going, but as you say, in time another may be possible. As you will know you have to do what is right at the moment for you. A car is not top of your list right now, and I can sort of understand why. Good luck selling it and hopefully you'll get about the amount you want for it.

Got its replacement all lined up lol.
And spent all the money too, so I hope it sells soon too.
Yeah hopefully 09 will see a nice 09 reg replacement, which I wanted anyway, so it all works out well.
The replacement for now is far more practical for what I need I think

Things often have a habit of turning out alright in the end. Like I said you have to do the right thing for your situation at the time.
Have you got other things planned at the moment, or is this just down to recent matters? You know I'm a bit of a nosy sod. Hope all is fairly well under the circumstances.

Fingers crossed, I'm sure you'll be fine, a little good luck must be due your way.

Other things planned indeed, very big changes, however due to annoying disagreeing planks, I will keep those close to my chest. lol
My absence from work continues, but hopefully I will be back there in the next 3-4 weeks, starting off gently, and seeing which way the wind blows so to speak.
As for the other parts of the situ at the mo, it just helped the smoke clear, and me see some sense.
Given the circumstances, all is indeed, VERY good I have to say. However im dying to see the physio again soon.My back needs to crack lol
And just to recap..... Im SO worth all the hassle to my employer.

Good luck getting back to work, It'll take a bit of adjusting after time away, but you'll get there.
I find it difficult going back to my job after a weeks holiday, but I hate my job LOL.

I had a feeling changes were on the way. That will likely be a good thing, and as you say even the worst cicumstances help us to put things into perspective, every cloud and all that (don't take offence, I'm sure you know what I mean)

The car thing does not actually bother me one bit, im just impatient and want it gone NOW, rather than waiting around for weeks on end.
As for work, im sure I will be fine Only going to be working 3 hours a day for the first couple of weeks, then I might see about dropping hours in the long term, maybe to a 20 hour week or something lol
lol@ going back after a week, im terrible after 2 weeks away, but this time its been..... *counts...... 20 weeks so far, and maybe a couple more before I actually get back, due to them getting things into check and ready for me to return.

Like I have said, have an opinion all you want, but dont judge me on something you clearly know nothing about.
lol @ the PM too, my ***** are just fine as they are thanks
Now like I say, when you have more information or some manners, please come back and join in the discussion all you want. Though quite what my situation at work has to do with you at such a level I really dont know. Part of the discussion, yes. Any more detail any of your business.... Clearly not.

I think you have discussion and opinion confused with uneducated, pointless pops at people.

Amazing display of intelligence, please do carry on
With regards to me feeling the world or my work OWE me something, your are a very confused, and misinformed person, who seems to draw conclusions easily and without much information.
If you knew the slightest thing about me, or my situations, you might have a better idea, and be better equipt to critisize me. Sadly........... your not
So unless you are an agent working for my employer, a cancer specialst treating my mother, or a Subaru dealer interested in buying my car......

Vague as it actually has no bearing on the actual topic of the post. Employer has "changed" nothing, not sure where exactly I said they had. Things have changed, but legally, contractually..... nothing has.
As I say there is far more to know, but little is relevant to this topic, so was left off and will be left off.
Sorry if you misunderstood, the topic is about if its the right time to sell my car. Not about peoples opinions of my absense from work.
Impressive quotes there, my "sick leave" is validated by my "sick certificates" from my "medical professionals", and my "legal advice" is from my "solicitor"
Hope that makes things a little clearer.
Besides, the car is for sale now, so as far as my main point in the thread goes, its decided.
Thanks for your interest in the matter.
Now I believe there is a debate about yellow or red bricks brewing in the local play school, I have put your name down to chair the debate, hope you dont mind.

OK its crunch time for me. Work have just cut my sick pay seriously, so much so that just paying the monthly outgoings has just become a chore. I am having to ponce off the other half to do so.
Meanwhile I have a court case looming, claiming against my employer for various things.
So these things can take time, but im hoping for a quick sort out of things, and in the longterm am looking to move on from there and go it alone in something else (which shall remain nameless at this time)
In the meantime, do I scrape by and do my best to hang on to the car, or do I call it a day.
Settlement figure on the car is £8k now, and im pretty sure I can sell it for a bit more than that. So would come out of it with something, while saving my monthly payments on it and putting me in a better position.
So what would you do.
Long term, im hoping for a couple of quid from work which would easily get me out of any strife I cause by hanging on to the car.
Tough one in one sense, but common sense prevails on the other hand, and just screams get rid of the car.

Work HAVE cut my sick pay, seriously. But whats that got to do with a contractual change?
Are you familair with my employment contract in some way that I should know about lol
It appears you are reading FAR too much into things. Like I say, its not actually important, who, how, how much or why with regards to this thread, only that the cut has occured.
