The stock links will do you just fine.
I have the ball links on my Sti V3 road/hillclimb car and they are silent.
I do however not use the car as a daily driver, weekends only and I lubricate them every month with silicon spray.
IMHO these parts are not 'fit n forget'.
After a year of use ,3K miles, mine look like this:

I hope a 22mm ARB can fit in the OE bushes as I don't want to have to do extra jobs!

Finally received my replacement whiteline droplinks today and there now on Ebay- they don't fit my STI without modifying them!
