Having just perchased a ver6 type RA which i believe is very similar to a type R they are monster quick and put the power down very well so id pick the type R over the evo for looks and value for money.

Why do these things come down to which is quicker, better, faster etc?
Its completely pointless and really shows that your buying a car for what it does for other people than what it does for you.
An EVO9 doesn't "do it" for me as much as Sonic Blue Type R WRC. I'd rather have a Lancia Intgrale EVO over the 9 and that would get its bottom handed to it by most modern hot hatches (EVO magazine useless article proving)
Its completely pointless and really shows that your buying a car for what it does for other people than what it does for you.

I do concede subjective aesthetic factors should also be a major factor in buying as well though. If a classic performance car is your thing aesthetically, then it is pointless comparing it with modern performance cars.
