We completely sold out of kits and had a waiting list in case of any cancellations. We tried to contact you via phone a number times I believe but with no luck. Because we have been let down countless times by people sticking their names down for group buys and not following up with the cash we had to let the kit go. I dont deal with individual orders and my staff dont go on the forums generally hence them not communicating by pm.

I wouldnt normally know anything about individual orders but my staff have been giving me grief as they dont like letting people down and have been bugging me to get your kit sorted by hook or by crook. As a result theyve dumped your order form on my desk to ensure its sorted. It has been dealt with for you now though and your kit should be here next week My apologies for the mixup, my staff do move on quickly if they cant get hold of people, especially for a fast moving product where demand exceeds supply.

My apologies for the delay, we are pushing hard to finish your order now, thanks for your patience

We sold a lot of kits from the shipment, more than was expected to be honest so had no error for margin and fell foul of cutting it so tight. All my fault, I order the kits and I didnt leave any room to move if there were any unexpected problems.

I'm not sure what happened on the phone front, I had no message left and can't remember seeing any missed calls It's a shame a message wasn't put on here as I have been following the thread.

Thanks for trying to sort it though but i've a possible problem. My MOT is due next Wednesday (25th) and as the discs are the originals and showing wear i'm not 100% sure they will pass. I don't fancy spending money getting some new discs to keep on the car just for the MOT. If I can get the set on Monday it's not a problem though (i'm dropping the car off Tuesday night).

Anyway, you've my number, either call or PM me.

Thanks

It was Louise who was dealing with it but shes just gone on holiday for two weeks. She is very very good in terms of leaving messages when at all possible but I cant get further info until she gets back. Louise is the acting manager of the company when Ann and I arent here, shes good at what she does Ann and I were away last week, again my staff just dotn operate on forums as a rule, thats my job. They wont use BBs as a means of comminication, period

Weve just had a drama with our Skyline so Ive got to shoot to our engine builder now to pick a new push rod up to give to the car builder so it can be re-assembled as its being shipped out to Gran Canaria on Thursday to do an EDC demo.

Bloody cars!

I have a way to sort you out, Ill give you a shout as soon as I get two mins.

No, your kits are sorted. We have been setting things up with DHL as you requested but we had the final price come through this morning. Its going to be over £600 through DHL compared to just over £100 for TNT. One of my staff will have sent you an email this morning asking you how youd like to proceed.

AHHHH !!!! Mine dont fit !!!!!!!!

It seems the split rim design on my Bbs lm,s is no good for the 8 pots.....the caliper catches the back of the bolt that holds the two piece design together. The guy fitting them was very impressed with the quality of the K sports and the way the bracket design differed to the Ap racing set up.

He also reckoned the 6 pot caliper would be more than adequate if as good as the AP,s version...

Will be sending these back to Apex on thursday......and will be waiting the 304mm 6 pot kit.

Not all bad news as had been looking for a set of 16" Rays/Volks or similar for track day use, which will now clear the 6 pot version....

Got mine yesterday. Great looking kit and seems very well made, can't wait to get them on the car.
Seems they took some abuse during shipping (one caliper was sticking though the side of it's box, but no visable damage apart from one tiny dent, so fingers crossed) ... bloody courier companies!

Theyre the same pad shape as the AP 6 pot 304mm kits, performance will be on a par

If youre running DS2500s then you need to get the pads hot hot hot once youve racked up some miles ont he rotors. You need to get them hot to get proper resin transfer to the rotor face to getr maximum braking performance

Not your fault, just mentioned it in case there were any leaks, etc. on that caliper after fitting. Going to fit them on the weekend, so will report back on initial performance after that ... although will still be gentle while bedding in.

Your pm box is full.

We dont know who you are, we dont have a 'Rooferman' in our system Theres no documentation with the kit you returned.

Can you give us a ring with full name, delivery info etc.

Thanks

Yer its the DS2500s, ive now done approx 160 miles of very light braking, is it normal for the disk wear to be a little un-even when there just bedding in, eg I can see the top half of the disk is a little more worn than the bottom half, like the top half of the pad is making a bit more contact, though the bottom half looks like its slowly catching up......and with that I think ive confused myself

The pads wear without any wedging, even with very hard track use uneven pressure on the back plate isnt a problem. Dont worry about it, its probably just the way the pads are bedding in If youve done 160 miles of sensible use (i.e. actually using the brakes, Im not talking 160 motorway miles) then you can start building up the abuse, start progressivley getting more and more heat into the kit.

Just do NOT come to a stop with the brakes hot and do NOT come to a stop and either sit with the footbrake on or stick the handbrake on if you think there is any sort of real residual heat in the braking system. For example, if youve done a track session and done a cool down lap before returning into the pits to let the car and brakes cool you still do not stop the car in the pits and sit there with the footbrake on or apply the handbrake  Use a chock if the cars on a hill.

Same applies to serious road abuse, dont cain the brakes until theyre red hot, do a minimal amount of slow speed cooling and then think youre ok stopping at a set of lights with your foot on the brake pedal.

The heat transfer from the rotor to the pad face and into the brake fluid can still cause issues with pad transfer and getting excessive heat into the brake fluid which can lead to it boiling and subsequent complete loss of pedal.

Has any one told their insurance after fitting these brakes?

I rang Adrian Flux for a quote last week and then asked if fitting better brakes would reduce the premium,no increased it by £100! I said that I was upgrading the brakes not taking them off completely lol.

Glad youre happy

The harnesses come with and without FIA approval, come as a six point with aircraft buckle (but can be run as 4 point, thats what we do) with 3" shoulder and lap straps.

Theyre £111 without FIA approval, £169 with.

We can do a good discount off the FIA if we get 10+ people, 35% bringing the harnesses right down to £109.85.

Just wanted to say thanks again for my set mate. I got them fit this afternoon and the mechanic said they were very impressive calipers. He said they were very easy to work with too, better than the Brembos

Bren, the performance of these brakes are awesome, im very happy with the kit apart from something i found today that has slightly dissapointed me. I took my wheels off today to clean them and gave the brakes the once over and i found the mounting mounts had rusted big time!! They have only been on the car since feb!! Would it be safe for me to replace these with stainless items?
