As the old adage goes, be careful what you wish for. Electing Boris is quite a gamble. He has no track record of running a large organization and in the words of his own friends in his own party, he's not a "details man". If he has the wisdom to employ good people around him and leave the day to day stuff to them then you've got a chance.
Although I don't particularly care if he screws up London because I don't live there, if the Olympics are a screw up it make us all look bad.
Don't bollox it up Boris!

He got my vote and I was shocked to see so many people at the polling station on Friday.
Ken Livingstone was a tinpot dictator who treated London as an experiment and used our money as if it was his own, comes to something when even the councils were taking the mayor to court.
Lets see what Boris can do and at least if he sticks to his word there'll be no £25 CC anymore

Great news for London! I hope they hunt down that pr1ck Livingston lock him up in the Tower of London!
Hopefully now the workers of London who may live outside the city, but contribute to its wealth will have more of a voice, after 8 years of Livingston just acting in the interests of the dole-scrouging immigrants.

Chap we know was robbed Friday, walking along the street in London, busy area middle of the day.
6 youths knoicked him to the floor, stole his laptop, phone, I-Pod, wallet and then beat him severely for no other reason that they could. When he described them to Police none where white.
I hope Boris sticks to his to his words and makes London a safer place.

I fail to see how people can say Boris being elected doesnt affect anyone outside London, its the capital of the UK, the seat of government and guess what a lot goes on there that affects the rest of the country, just the drubbing labour got in the elections would be bad enough but Boris being elected is the cherry on the top, the British public and in particular the residents of London have voiced their disapproval at how Labour have been doing things.
Though I don't think Labour are completely to blame for the current economic climate (its bigger than that) they have not helped with their additional tax burdens, immigration policies and the way they are treating us.
So, I must say, Boris getting in has cheered me up, he has a certain style, he seems human, fallible but grounded, he has a sense of humour and isn't afraid to speak his mind even if it sometimes goes against the PC creed, its early days but it will be interesting to watch how he gets on, ok, he is a complete Tory boy but he doesnt seem to have the old self interest so representative of Tory MP's, I dont think he is out for himself, I don't think he is that cunning
or even all that bothered about acquiring wealth, its like a dopey kid being elected Prefect because the other kids think he would be good, not because he does.
There is no doubt that things are going to be a bit tougher for a while but it will be nice if we can weather the storm without being rear ended by the government at the same time.

I love the comments from all corners about how he has never done the job before, duh !! Nor has anyone unless they are starting their second term!! Give the guy a chance and lets see what his plan is.
Running it im sure will be done with the advice of many advisors.
The hilarious thing is the Labour MP's still trying to defend how Labour is not in trouble, and stop saying "it doesn't matter" etc.
I honestly hope to see some change of attitude more than anything from the mayor's office, and am really keen to see the first promises come true. Can only wait I guess.
