Im pondering the idea of having one that goes onto the side of my neck, not too high, but high enough to be seen in a round neck t-shirt....whats ppl's thoughts on this? I have a job where I am in regular contact with the public and going to their houses....Im going to have it done, but at the same time im a little wary aswell, ppl steretype tattoo's too much and that worries me.

Well put it this way. They're nearly always ill-advised, they never turn out the way you want them, and the 99% of the tattoo artists that practise aren't fit to doodle in the back of a year 8 R.E. exercise book.
A case in point - on Saturday I met a really nice bloke who'd recently had a tattoo done based on the Stranglers' "No More Heroes" wreath, which is supposed to be red carnations around a funereal nameplate. The bloody tattooist couldn't manage carnations so he's done friggin' pink daisies! The whole thing looks fecking pathetic. ![](http://ccgi.rallytrader.plus.com/forum/images/smiles/disappointed.gif)

Sod the people that stereotype, they have no class of their own, so impose themselves upon others
lol
As for it popping out the neck of the t-shirt, depends whats gonna be showing really.
Do you have other tattoo's ?

Im just trying to picture my gaffers face now as I walk into a meeting with the tatt stuck on my neck...lol
My idea is, not set in stone yet, a scorpian at the top of my back, with its pincer (or whatever it is) just curling around onto my neck at the side. Im not into astrology or that crap but im a scorpio and always like to have something that either relates to me, or means something.

Sounds cool to me.
Personally if it was gonna cause some screwed up faces and no more, I would go for it.
If its gonna risk your job or future employment, I would think harder about it. Not that they should be able to judge you on that.
Could the tail and point not come over your shoulder round the the front of your lower neck, so collarbone then down to base of neck?

I know what you mean about the neck though. Im planning a back piece which will just appear at the top of my spine, just above shirt level.

Short answer... yup! lol
Some people get carried away and get anything and everything. Others love getting them but choose carefully![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Im just having a leg piece finished, but am in the process of getting the next one designed and drawn up for the other leg.
These are being added to another 5 or so that I have had over time.
So yup, tattoo's can be addictive .

Definatly. Not knocking those who just pick one out of the book weekly lol, but I prefer mine to be unique, and mean something.
Didnt realise what a can of worms getting a theme was..... just encourages even more.
Here is mine so far

Where did you have yours? I'm going for the bottom of my back... I've always said that I would never have one done - but Stu is having one in memory of Ben ( a beautiful boxer stance) and I would love something to connect me with him always.. but am going for something a bit more feminine
