don't know about you,but my daily commute takes me thro a 30.40 even a 60mph speed limit at one point.Sometimes I even drive my car to the Supermarket and back...Think my cars plenty suitable enough for that isn't it?

..plus I defy 99% of people on here to be able to drive a std uk model to its limits(on a track)let alone anything else anyway

Sparshatts work with imports now with no quibbling

I know you're not a car fan Jon,im only teasing (although i do think you should try a JDM for a comparison)

It was cheaper for me to insure my 04 JDM STi than it was to insure a STi type UK with PPP!!

I know which I prefer ans I only pay £185 road tax as It was SVA'd so no CO2 emission test

i did
check my pics on another thread previously in gallery
smashed it up did a 360, double roll, got up unhurt
paid £3650 for the car, insured valued at £4000 got £4000 payout - £350 excess
same as i paid for the car, went out bought a newer model for £3495 and my premium has gone up from £280 to £340 per year, how about that then!!!!! cant complain, although it took 6 weeks for the cheque as the police took my car away and thoroughly inspected it as was a single vehicle accident, turns out the rear wheel bearing had collapsed so that was the reason for the back coming to visit the front!!!!
plus i cant afford to insure imports and im a tightwad, i know that jap classics are far more powerful but im a budget subaru #driver, cheapest i could get for insurance was £550 on a WRX and i refuse to pay over £500

What the poster will find on here is contradictions abounding,I like him posted on here b4 I bought(wise?) and was told that models wether UK or Jap of the same age would be almost indentical mechanically,is this not correct.

And lastly wtf is JDM... I take it it's the Jap import model....
My Jap one hasnt got a sunroof just A/C which i never use, so the sunroof would be handy. But if i was buying a scoob and the owner told me he'd seen 175mph i would run a mile!!! I gather from that its got some serious mods done to it. Yes JDM is import, it means car originated from the Japanese Domestic Market. But like i said before its each to their own and you can spend a bit on the uk models to make it like a wrx or sti if thats what you want

I recently got an MY06 JDM STI from Performance Centre Manchester

I love it to bits. Higher spec than a UK car.. about the same price..
My insurance was £650 through UK Car and Home Insurance Quotes From A-Plan Insurance.

I had a UK MY03 STI and I love that car too..

I dont think you can really loose out on either a UK or a JDM unless you buy a stinker.. but if you buy from a reputable company you should be ok...

Getting mine remapped and some aftermarket bits put on next month.. So warranty wise.. i would be pretty much voiding it anyway..

I guess if you want to be safe go UK and PPP... If your like the rest of the Scooby crowd .. put a little risk in your life and go aftermarket or JDM...

Prodrive Performance Pack

Consisted of AFAIK

Fast Cat and Prodrive Backbox
Oil Cooler
Remap

It gave around 320bhp I believe but doesnt effect the warranty on new Subaru's, so very popular with people who have just spanked 26k on an STI

Subaru produces three specs for RHD vehicles

The Japanese Spec. which are for Japan market having Japanese specifications such as emsission ect.

The general spec. which are mainly for countries outside the EU countries

The EU spec. these are for EU countries only UK, Malta and Cyprus which all of them have the same specifications

My friend has bought a new WRX direct from Malta EU Spec with a good savings, I beleive that Litchfield can supply you one too with EU spec.

No oil cooler, air filter. On paper produces 305bhp, realistically around 285-290bhp.

Has Elmer deleted a post as my [get a] Prius comment was in response to his post about always driving his car within the speed limits, not accelerating too hard, only driving to the shops etc
