I'm liking the look of these
Bren, can you answer this, or anyone that already has these (RICH??), is there enough adjustment to make these soft enough for uk roads without knocking your teeth out???
I've never had coilovers before so haven't got a clue how harsh they are, my 2002 WRX has Eibachs and some Whiteline goodies which makes for a stiff but comfortable ride, how much harder are these coilovers??
My car has 76k miles on it now and I was thinking of replacing the standard dampers with KYB's and adjustable top mounts, but these things work out cheaper and have full adjustment so look better, as long as the ride can be made fairly comfy as it's my only car and the girlfriend will get the right hump if her t1t's keep giving her black eyes
I don't use it much anymore and don't do many track days, but it's nice to have the choice of ride comfort, or out and out maximum attack!
Anyone????
PS, I would call and ask you about this Bren, but work nights so don't get much time during open hours.
Cheers
Ross

Bren.
Was gonna ring you on Monday re this and the brake upgrade gb as a package ,but if your online over the weekend-a few SFQ's for you.Havent pm'd them as they may be helpful to others...
Have you a kit for an 02 bugeye wagon?
Am a bit wary of the ride from coilovers.Want a slightly lower ride but dont want a major change in ride comfort.
How much,if any of a drop in height should i expect?
How do these feel for day to day driving and little to no trackwork?
Was looking at a combination of a Tein Basic and s tech springs-how do you compare the two kits.
Sorry for the bone questions, but was about to buy the Tein kit,so they are genuine...
Thanks for your time,
Harvey

Even our softest coilovers will give a significantly firmer ride than standard. If you want to retain the standard type ride then just go for a set of lowering springs
Around £100 or £180 with alignment.
I have been trying to call the number posted above all day but no answer has anyone else had trouble trying to contact them? Who is b/c which company is making the new batch? What's the differance with inverted dampers & these on the group buy as my V5 has inverted dampers as standard?
The coilovers have always been manufactured by the same company, BC, nothings changed
Inverted dampers move the oil and gas reservoir away from the hub to reduce heat transfer into the reservoir. They also often run a larger diameter damper rod in comparison to the non inverted which makes them stiffer and less prone to flex.
We can also supply inverted coilovers and have some in stock. Theyre £849 less the 25% discount.
Nope, just give us a shout to order 01274 683633

Youll not get a set up that will adjust from soft to hard, its dependent on the damping valving and the spring rate. The damping adjustment will effect ride quality to a degree but it will never give huge differences. If you go too soft with the dampers then then spring wont be controlled properly and ride quality will actually start to detriorate in comparison to winding the damping up a little.

I am more than happy to drive our Impreza on a daily basis with 6/5s. Given the opportuninty then Id drop to 5/4 to make it even more complient but I dont want to go too soft as the car will be doing a lot of track work.
We have a Jag XJR but I still dont get pissed off with the Subaru even when jumping from that Jag into a car with coilovers.
What I cant tell you, however, is that YOU will like the ride with coilovers as its a subjective thing, not objective. We have sold loads of 5/4 coilovers though and we dont get complaints about the ride quality with them.

Just fitted my rear extendable adjusters. I had to machine them down a little bit as i felt they were too long. They now sit just right and i have adjustability with out having to remove the back seat.
Hope that answered all your questions.

Thanks for your replies Rich and Bren, they sound just what I've been looking for
Will look into the money thing this weekend and hopefully give Bren a call on Tuesday (after the bank holiday) and order a set.

I'm happy to run 5/4 Apexes on my classic, as a road and track compromise. It is crashy on potholes though (limited travel, typical of coilovers) and pretty lively on a b-road.
For a pure road Impreza I'd want softer and longer travel, for sure.
Your best bet is to have a ride in a converted car and see how you like it.

Sory for the late reply, we spent the end of last week preparing for EDC and Time Attack at Silverstone and have been there all weekend.
I dont know exactly how much you can lower the Impreza by but its a huge amount, more than youd ever want to run.
The kits are ready for collection and the deals still on, just give us a shout to order 01274 683633.

Managed to Get mine fitted today, and all re-aligned. They seem to work well. i have them on the soft setting at the moment and they seem no harder than the standard sti fitted stuff on the motorway. There is much less body roll though. Havent tried any B roads yet. Only problem i had with the set up is that i had way to much neg camber on the rear and had to buy camber bolts to be able to get the right settings.
All round well worth the dosh

Havent got a clue if there needed for all models. It may just have been my car that was odd. I got mine from the place that set it up. Had them in stock. Best thing is to get them fitted and take the car for a proper geometry set up. If there goood they'll tell you if you need camber bolts and hopefully have them.
