Kings Crossing - Elliott Smith

"This is the place where time reverses
and dead men talk to all the pretty nurses
instruments shine on a silver tray
don't let me be carried away".

Recorded shortly before he died in hospital from self inflicted stab wounds.

Ditto! My favourite time for listening to some of the old trance stuff is when I'm driving on a long journey on a summer's evening, the traffic is light and the sun is shining and I can crank it up to ear bleeding level, bliss

In 1994 Marillion released an Album called Brave, inspired when the singer over-heard a radio appeal for help in identifying a girl they had found wandering across the River Severn bridge, who refused to talk to them.

That formed the basis of the Story behind Brave and this is the Album's Swansong: 'The Great Escape'

YouTube - Marillion-The Great Escape

There are actually two versions, one where she is saved (which contains possibly the best guitar solo ever written) and this one, which has her jumping. Regrettably it doesn't have the solo, but has genuinely beautiful and moving closing passage.

If you listen to the lyrics on this one, you can see how much of the singer -Steve Hogarth- is in there.

It's a mater-class musically and lyrically and performed live with conviction that makes you gasp.

I've got to agree with alot of RMA26's tunes , William Orbit - Barbers adagio for strings (Ferry Corsten mix), Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar, Bedrock Feat KYO - For what you dream of and Bedrock - Heaven scent.

Three of my personal favourites:

Aria - Dido (Armin Van Burren's Universal Religion mix)

And my all time favourite: Brainchild - Symmetry C (Lange breakbeat mix). 9 minutes of pure audio pleasure. Makes me do a little sex wee everytime I hear it .
