W@nkers the lot of them, and there have been complaints of heavy handedness by the police. These people have no brains. And obviously not enough 50p's to keep the meter going for the big screens. Good luck in Moscow...

The ratio of national games/fan related trouble is higher for England than Scotland - go look it up
The ratio of European games/fan trouble is higher for England than Scotland - again, go look it up.
Its well known globally that the Scots are more gratious in defeat. (No doubt because we are more used to losing ).
The trouble in Manchester kicked off before the game started because the fans were a) pished and b) frustrated due to the Screen not working. (according to Manchester police, as opposed to the rantings of some bigot)
ps - For anyone else reading this thread, this is not iin any way intended to be an "anti English" issue, simply a response to a self confessed bigot.

Well done Rangers fans for bringing shame on our country and by that i mean Scotland. Our national team is held in high regard the world over because of the good behaviour of our fans. I dont support either side of the old firm but we didnt have anything like this happen when Celtic lost in Portugal. So again well done you bunch of *****

To be fair, there were a handful of people involved out of over 100,000 Rangers fans there.
I don't think this necessarily bring any shame on Rangers or Scotland. It's just one of those things

I don't buy this oft-spouted media myth that fans of the Scotland national team behave themselves impeccably at away matches/tournaments. I attended all of the Euro '96 Wembley matches. This meant mixing with fans from Germany, Holland, Spain, England, Scotland, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Scotland. Without any shadow of doubt the Scottish fans were the most foul-mouthed, aggresive, pis*ed and abusive that we encountered during that event.

not to alarm anyone here, but do you realise this happens every saturday on most football week-ends at various places and goes totally unreported? Fair enough, not in such large no's but believe me, its a very regular occurance nonetheless.

Was a balanced commentary on the problems of sectarianism in Glasgow?

Next time this is forcast; warn every supporter to stay out of trouble by going directly home and stay off the streets.
.......And buy in some bulls from Valenica
So next time; forget the plod and riot sheilds....release the bulls!! Then we'll see how "hard" they all think they are
Could make it a sport in its own right; Use the CCTV to lay bets on likely runners who might get the horn ( )

I'm not too fussed about who was being violent, in this case it was the scots but it could have been any aftermath of any football game.
What concerns me is the lack of control the police could assert on the crowd. Yes, all 10 of them that were there.
Heavily outnumbered with batons to protect themselves.
Mounted police and dog handlers should have been there.
If anyone steps out of line, then they deserve an GSD chewing on their ***.

I once worked with a die hard rangers fan who swore blind in his words that he could, "smell a fenian" in a crowded room. That's what you are dealing with!! It's funny, I'm actually in the middle of watching a documentary (adverts at the moment) on Discovery about Kristallnacht and there are a lot of parallels between what I'm learning there and the bigoted racist Rangers scum. Fvck off out of Scotland and take Glasgow with you....

Kenny, your above post would suggest you are every bit as bigotted as people who hate "fenians" ! Tell us that's not true ?
Would in no way defend the yobs that rioted last night of course - complete ***** that they are !

As a rule of thumb, and Im not setting out to be anti anything here, Rangers fans are known to be a bit lairy.. many moons ago, there was a freindly between them and Aston Villa (at Villa Park) tens of thousands of them arrived in Birmingham on the friday night, got bladdered in all the pubs, then basically 'broke into' the *Home end * of the ground at silly o'clock in the morning
the ecilops were letting ordinary supporters into the ground, INCLUDING the home end.. no wonder there was trouble...
and as for the whole England fans are more violent than scots fans etc... have you SEEN what the nutters abroad are like?!?!?!?!

I spent my teens and 20's going to QPR matches home and away, and I have seen my fair share of violence at football.
It is nowhhere near as bad as it used to be. Sure there is still the odd organsised scuffle, but nothign on the scale as it used to be.
Worst places to go as a travelling cockney?
Burnley
Leicester
Forest
City (when it was Maine Road).
I have been to Ibrox and Celtic park on a few occasions and never had any trouble at all.

I live in Manchester centre and right now, out my window, I can see a Ranger's fan, on his own, asleep on the pavement.
Nice - lol
The ****ers also kept me up most of the night
Gotta love this series of events:-

Footballers - a bunch of poofs.
Football - a game for poofs.
Football fans - a bunch of utter idiots.
Crying because some team has lost some silly little game.... rioting because they can't watch it on TV.. what a load of crap.
Theres a word for men who want to watch other men run around in shorts.
That word is Gay.
If that isn't quite clear enough - I don't like football much.

Also, the in fighting between Rangers fans has me perplexed:
YouTube - rangers in manchester city centre, smashing the place up
30 seconds in.
