What I want is NO cameras (and traffic police returned - but that is a different argument) and speed limits set as *appropriate*, rather than to fulfill some social engineering agenda of the political classes.
For arguments against speed limits as set by the authorities see A B D and the report TRL Report 511. (top left). Demolishes government arguments using government arguments ..... that si, they're NOT for safety as they keep saying.

You mean you're peddling backwards at well over the speed limit surely ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
quote=PeteBrant;7888870]I agree with what you say here entirely,
Like I say, I am playing devils advocate on this one. People need to write to their MPs and local councillors if they want anything changed, but in order to do so, you have to be prepared for the "don't speed, don't get caught out" argument, and so far, no one, myself incuded, has come up with a decent enough argument against that point.[/quote]

The point is Pete, is that it's pointless. Lives are generally not being saved and it restricts fee movement, adds to congestion and costs more in fuel, fuel that we can ill afford to waste. Care to refute this?
