I have had a call from the garage that will be repairing my car when it goes in on Saturday and the insurance company have agreed to pay for a new wheel
BUT......... Only a gold one!! As the wheels only come in gold, they will only replace it in gold!! He said to me I can pay them to do it black for me but I said no as they can only paint it not powder coat it!!
I am happy still as I am getting the new wheel

also i'm sure she could be persuaded to pay for it seeing as she done a runner from the scene of an accident.

Have to agree there matt. On simalar lines i had a different tyre fitted by a body shop and after a few complaints it was back in to be changed (shame they THEN damaged the wheel) So WHY should you have to get a different colour wheel? And then Pay for it to be P/C black?

Car went in today and have a hire car!!
Well I dropped the Scooby off this morning at the garage and I now have my replacement for the next 2 weeks or so…….
Yep it’s a Mondeo, it’s a a 1.8 TDCI edge so bottom of the range. You have to keep it above 2000 rpm to keep the turbo spooling in order to get anywhere and it tops out at just over 5000 rpm but it is nice and comfortable to drive just as slow as hell.

Wheel update!!
I had an answer phone message about 3 PM on Thursday from the repairer just as a courtesy call to inform me the car has been stripped down and they have the new wing so its ready to be put back together and sprayed they are just waiting for the wheel to arrive that they HAVE ORDERED from Subaru.
Then about half hour later I had a phone call saying they can not find the wheel on the Subaru computer/catalogue and they don’t know what car it is originally from After me telling them it was an STI wheel from a new age Impreza he said he said thanks for the help and he will find it!!
I popped in there this morning to see if he had found and ordered the wheel and apparently the trouble they were having is that there are loads of very slightly different wheels that Subaru make that all look the same on their computer but are all actually different in the flesh!! They now DO have the correct wheel apparently and it cost £368 + VAT.

There database is very specific, all the caliper bolts are listed as 'bolts' on their system, regardless of application. I dare say all the wheels are listed as 'wheels'. Fella down the road wanted a new STI wheel after he buckled one and I remember the cost was near 500 Shame they aren't paying you to go buy it based on that ebay spare that was going for £15
