I've just gone 40 and my son and I go most weekends, until 3 weeks ago when some little b*****d stole his bike. He had just proped the bike against our van whilst he grabbed a drink and was only feet away from it, but the little S*** still managed to start it and make off - trouble with having a well maintained bike that starts first kick. Fortunately my son got a good look at him and the master criminal was also known to some of the marshalls at the track so they took me round to his house, but no sign. His dad however was there and was very apologetic. We informed the Police and made our way back to the track. 20mins later the Police arrive, shortly followed by the lads dad, who, by this time has located his son and promptly hands him over to the Police. Unfortunately he wouldn't say what he had done with the bike and three weeks later we still don't know what happened to it, but needless to say it wont be coming back. He's now been charged and identified by my son in an ID parade and other witnesses have given statements that confirm him riding the bike. Turns out he's 17 and already been cautioned for TWOC of his dads Fireblade. Just gotta wait for the court date now, unless his brief tells him to plead guilty. Anyway, we will be back on the bikes this weekend, as I've just bought my son a replacement bike.

Raced for many years. Plenty of silverware and championships won and a professional career path chosen until one nasty day put paid to that.

Looking good, Dave. Well done for getting back to it, I miss it, even the original Hawkstone Park hill.

Nice pictures too, Clare. Keep at it and you'll have a good varied collection to look back on when Dave is resting his petrol tank knees that make more noise than his bike.
