hands up from me
I'd only watch about 1 to 1 & 1/2 hrs TV a day but always make time for The Bill
Other faves ....... Waking The Dead, Spooks, The Hustle and Al Murray can't think of any others at the moment.

Cant stand it either, and I would just like to apologise to all the russian people who will no doubt have to endure some kind of thuggery, vandalism or worse after the match. I would be very surprised if something didnt happen.
On another note, while all those who do like football are busy huddled around watching the match, the roads round here (South Manchester) have been fantastic as there almost deserted!
More big match fu k ball on tv please!

'Tis a game played by *******, ergo, anyone who likes it........ ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
I have to admit watching, it's v poor all the people diving about. It's like watching some badly choreographed fight scene!
The only good thing about this match is that it marks 3 months of the year when we don't have football!!!
Except this year we have Euro 2008......
Geezer

Greatest game ever. A game where any shape or size can play. Requires skill, fitness, athleticism, technique, tactical awareness, team play. Superb game for kids to take up.
As for being a fan well it can take you on an emotional ride like any sport. Some of the drama it provides cannot be found anywhere else.
I could never trust a bloke who didn't like football.

A colleague is football mad and thinks anyone who doesn't like it is obviously gay. If it wasn't for the fact I have a wife, a child and have done things with women he firmly believes only happens in germany, he'd probably put money on me being gay. Probably thinks I'm over compensating.
Grew up with motorsport and its the only sport I really take an interest in.

you could use the same argument about any sport my brother hates F1 doesnt understand why i like a sport where a people pay to watch cars drive around when you could watch the M25 for free and you know who won before it starts and how the govering body are so in favour of one team Ferrari.I aslo have a mate who thinking rally fans are sad numpty whats the appeal of standing in a welsh forest freeze cold soaking wet again watching cars drive by.

My dads a football fan and i used to like it and play some when i was young, but when it started to turn into less of a sport and more about who had the most money and could buy the best foreign players then i lost interest.
The same can be said for any sport, its all about the money.
How many players dont play for money and are loyal to 1 team? 15 years ago it never used to be like this.
For this reason i dont like many sports, I barely watch tv at all anymore cos there's hardly anything worth watching.

However my point stands. I am a fan of F1 and motorsport, but my first question when I meet someone isn't 'Which F1 team do you support?' In fact I don't mention it as I wouldn't want to bore someone who is not interested. It's a pity the average football fan can't show me the same courtesy, but maybe they aren't equipped in the brain department to make such a monumental decision.
I also love the bit on the news where they have a sports roundup. 14 minutes of football including the results from the Orkney Islands Women's One Legged League and 1 minute for everything else which they race through to get to the next football story.
Then there's the papers - same deal.
Then if you go to the pub these days they always have a big screen showing some game from somewhere accompanied by the usual handful of sheep like followers discusisng every nuance of the game with such wonderful and inciteful remarks as 'We wuz robbed'.
FFS it's pathetic.

I can't stand football either, there wasn't anything else decent on last night so went out for a ride on my bike, even when I was riding around the town I could still hear the cheers or groan's coming from the various bars, then all of a sudden a load of people piled out onto the street and smoked their brain's out before going back in again and the street's were dead again.
When I got home I flicked it on just to see the score and it was still on penalties but it was pi$$ing down
Anyway windydaughter will be happy that Man Utd won.
windyboy.

I also understand why football is more popular - obviously anyone can kick a ball.
