I think you're a repressed homo-sexual. You're hatred of anything is down to it being 'gay' which clearly shows some issues. The fact you even feel threatened over your girlfriend having a gay mate just highlights the issue. Anger issues through questioning your own sexuality is clearly being displayed by you.

I had a great time yesterday evening, scrubbing in my new tyres, the roads were deserted.

Got the result from the news, that all that was needed. Boring game.

again, so spot on. I normally end up quite quickly asking someone new about football, who do you support etc, and when you get the 'oh I don't really like football' I kind of get a bit uneasy and sort of stare at the floor...

I'm not daft enough to suggest that they are a bit ghey, but they are definately odd.

Now the real wierd one for me is watching womens football..you end up checking out their ***** etc just like the woman do for mens football...it's a kind of role reversal...strange.

LOL! If you are for real you need help or maybe you just need to get a life! I have never read anything so monumentally stupid in all my life. You have to be on a wind up.

Well, I suppose if knowing what is really important in life and not behaving like a woolly farm animal with an emotional disorder and an IQ to mach is "wierd", then I'll take wierd

I'm in the middle I guess.

My grandfather was born, lived and worked in the shadow of "his" teams stadium and was a life long season ticket holder, however I never really watch it on the TV, couldn't give you the names of half the players, but been to a few home European games and very much enjoyed the whole "occasion"

Quite happy to kick a ball about for a laugh too.

Wouldn't touch a domestic game with a barge pole, can't stand the fact that with a few exceptions professional footballers are either over paid thugs or over paid primma donnas who are most certainly not role models for younger generations.

And don't start me on the media and the whole "football is my life" thing.

There is nothing "gay" or otherwise of not particlualrly liking football. Some people just chose not to go with the whole "britain's national game" thing and don't have a phsychological "need" to be part of a bigger group.

Anyway - there's nothing more "gay" than 11 grown men on the pitch and literally thousands more in the stands and at home crying like babies because they didn't win this time around. Get a grip, FFS

I was going to add the same thing. Of course football isn't the most important thing in life, but it's a sport hard to beat for excitement and drama on a global level. There's also the great sense of collective spirit when a group of blokes follow the same team when watching.

I wasn't aware of any large scale fighting of English fans abroad in Moscow (maybe small isolated incidents).

Slightly off topic, but I've always wondered why Sky Sports News is called that when it should really be Sky Footy News as thats all I see when I flick past that channel!!

There are more sports in this country than just football FFS!!

Agreed, RD had more talent in his little finger than these feeble prima donnas who fall at the slightest touch. A bit too much kissing and hugging for me

Why do we need a collective spirit? What do I have in common with a thousand other folk? Football fans will fight with each other if there is no one else about.

I once worked with a woman who was Scottish, but she supported Man U because they 'were the best'. Oh for sure, collective spirit and all that

Competitive my **** Bob! All to do with who has the most money to buy the best player. If that's competition then you should be riding a Honda

I am not a big fan but I quite enjoy watching it, it is a compelling game but I agree with DevilDog about the football is life, its a religion, yadda, yadda yadda.

FFS its a game, its interesting but people take it extremes, bloke on our road has a Man City tattoo on his leg, I like Cheese but I don't get "Roquefort" tattooed on my calf for all to see.

I think blokes use it a substitute, they arent in the army, they dont go to church so they need a cause, however feeble to support.

Nah I don't like football a bit think its a bad thing for our culture.

We cannot all like the same stuff as it would get boring so each to their own.

Can see some of the appeal in the big games but cannot stand the thuggish behaviour that goes with along of it and the ten bellied lager louts make me sick.

Some of the players are not exactly great role models either anbd quite a few of them are a bit ... thick.
