Well this is it. Ticking over from cold at 1500 rpm and throttle blipped to 2000 rpm (no more). ?

The box is not much bigger than the pipe. There's your noise. Straight through 3" and a bean can silencer. Sounds familiar.

ive got a tornado downpipe with a magnex centre and 5 inch backbox that is v.loud my frontroom door shakes when i start her and i also set off car alarms as i drive past other cars my neighbours havent complained yet but im waiting for the day they do

haha it does sound loud that Bob! I thought mine was quite loud with just a vortex afterburner backbox on.My house shakes in the morning! You can hear about half a mile down the road too! I dread to think what your neighbours think about it! lol good effort

When your car is mapped its set to pull a certain amout of boost, and is able to acheive that boost by the unrestriction in the exhaust system.
If you then go and put a bung in it and the cars fighting the back pressure created by the bung to acheive the boost target its quite possible for it to det.
Bungs are fine for getting out of urban areas quietly and then revmoving them before driving properly. But it seems to me our friend Bob r is rather fed up of the volume all of the time. In that case he would need to use the bung all of the time.
Not acceptable mate.
