1st time pass when I was 21 - first person that year to pass as well. Learned to drive and passed in a volvo 340. What a car to learn in - WE were perfectly safe ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
(actually got rear ended when doing a REQUIRED emergency stop and destroyed the front of the car that hit us!)
My instructor was superb: really quiet, calm, reassuring and very knowledgeable.
Only slight hiccup was that he'd cause us to miss junctions 'cos some girly with big boobies was going past and we be 'distracted'

Yup, and I shall be driving through Ruislip in about 3 hours time.
I used to live in Pinner many years ago and Ruilsip was th nearest test centre.
I think the woman that took my test was a bit ill or knackered. I didn't have to do a hill start, or a three point turn. - I just had to drive around a bit (not once going through traffic lights), reverse round a corner, emergency stop - Job done.
The obvious answer is that she fancied me and wanted some PeteLove©

Passed first time on a nissan (cherry?) at 17 after 5 lessons (including the one immediately before the test), 3 months after my birthday (earliest date I could get)
Learned how to drive a car when I was 13 though (legally

Passed 1st time after 7 lessons in a Nissan Sunny in 1988 with 3 minors. One for control of gears after it jumped out of secong going up the hill out of the test centre, one for touching the kerb on the 3pt and I forget the other.
Passed the ADI Pt.2 driving test 1st time in 2006 with 6 minors. 3 for gears as I drive roadcraft using the 'box to slow and the DSA don't approve, one for observation as I got impatient after the 7th pull over, and one for 'eco driving' when I did a full blown Banzai start from some lights on a 70mph dual carriageway when I thought I'd failed it![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Did that test in

Passed first time in a Nissan Almera on sep 11th ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Had been looking forward too getting my licence for ages, then i came home too see the 2nd plane crashing. Kinda put downer on things.
Dunno how i passed, i was ill with flu. At one point on my test i was doing about 60 in a 30. I came off a round about onto a dual carridgeway & put me foot down so i could move across lanes ahead of the car behind me before i came too the parked cars further along the road.

First go in Chertsey in a Morris 8 series E! I did the emergency stop just as the examiner's pencil was about to hit the dashboard-he nearly went through the screen! He was very good about it though
My sister did her test in one of the original Austin Sevens. I bought it for her 17th birthday from a scrappy for £12.50p. She also passed first time but I think the examiner just wanted to get it over as soon as possible!

Just remembered I also passed my Ontario driving test in 2003.
Almost failed it for driving too slow...LOL
In fact, the examiner actually told me to break the speed limit. Says somoething about how stupidly low it is...

Funny you should mention that Jerome. I failed the full G test due to driving to slow when trying to get onto the 427. It seems I'm meant to razz down the ramp, in excess of the posted speed limit, and cut in front of the traffic already on the highway, rather than stick to the speed limit or slightly below and thus the traffic passes me and I can enter the nice big gap that has appeared.
