One of those pieces that only appeals to people with a sense of history and style I guess.

Each to their own as ever..........

Price was a bargain BTW as Rolex AD's can't charge a premium. 2 yr waiting list for the normal watch means I made an instant 800 quid profit on purchase..........
If that's style then my anus is a work of art to. Historic schmoronic How can 3.5K for any type of watch be a bargain Morelike a status symbol, material, branded pos, for ppl with small penises

It's a bargain when you can sell it straight on for 5-800 quid more than you paid for it.

As for penises I'll leave discussion of their size to you and people who seem to have an interest in the subject, anuses etc............

Ah so you're going to sell it immediately then? What's the point of that when all you want to do is show it off n hold bragging rights with your material mates?

Two words :

Patek & Phillipe

For people who like an expensive watch but dont want to look like a dodgy used car dealer with a big lump of gold stuck to their wrist.

Patek-philippe make some nice pieces, I particularly like the Nautilus.

As for gold rolexes who mentioned them? Not only are they gauche they shed value quicker than a new WRX.

Do any of you guys know of a good UK-based watch forum?

timezone.com seems OK - lots of good articles - but the forums themselves are very US-centric and most of the threads boil down to 'hey, look at my new watch' followed by a chorus of 'wow, great, cool'.

I've got 2 Rolex's (yacht-master bi, gmt2 steel) and I must say the Rolex featured on this thread is horrid. Looks like something you'd find in a bargain box in Camden market. Agree with the timekeeping comment though, cheap digital is way more accurate than my watches, that said I'd never go back to a cheap watch
