NBO6 SHOW AND SHINE COMP #######
#1 (permalink) Well as it was so popular last year with the new arena and with over 100 scoobies taking part this year we are repeating the
NBO 6 show and shine
this year we will have a BIGGER arena to give more space for the cars and the crowds that watch this
as the NBO concept grows every year we feel this is the future for the final 4 years of the NBO concept
we try to keep it simple so the classes are
best classic starts at 1230
best classic modifed starts at 1245
best newage starts at 100pm
best newage modifed starts at 115 pm
best special editon /non impreza starts at 130pm
best hifi insall starts at 145pm
best ultimate project car starts at 200pm
overall winner starts at 230 pm
prizegiving for all the cars will be at 300pm
prize givingfor the club of the day comp will be at 315pm
raffle will be drawn at 330 pm
that is the plan hopefully we will try to keep to these times but that is the running order
we have assembled 6 of the top subaru judges including Turbo Andy ,all the way from milton keynes for his 5th NBO ,Howie who owns probably the most photograhed subaru in the uK, Robbieben who fetches a wealth of experience to judgeing cars and is in charge of security too !!and Drumperster phil who is a perfectionist in any subaru matters and we have imported 2 judges all the way from bonnie scotland to complete the magnificant 6 and of course we have an administration 'director 'who will stop the judges from dissagreeing and help with the admin to give to the DJ for anouncements .
Martin, Gussy mark <the terzo> and myself might even wander in !!
the times will be announced and also on your programme and you must drive onto the arena at the given times
as we all know subarus are never late
we identified a couple of problems last year as the cars were such headturners that the judges couldn't get near some cars due to the crowds so this year we have a drivers <pen./sin bin>
when you park your car up you MUST GO INTO THE PEN/SIN BIN for a few minutes to the judges have made a decision then you will be able to go back to your cars and anyone who is watching can go into the arena for a couple of minutes to ogle over these fine specimans of motors
anyone hanging around their cars will be desqualified unless the judges want to ask a percific question when judgeing .
-------------------------------------------------------
classes are straightforward
classic /newage standard
basically always the lowest turnout for these classes and the rules are simple
3 modifications are OK we accept most subaru owners from new changed the wheels ,possibly the spolier and of course ditched the twinshooter (if anyone can remmber one) for a proper exhaust
any more mods the judges might not favour it and recomend a mofidied class.
----------------------------------------------------------
a new class has been added with the special editons and that is non impreza so if you have a nice legacy ,forrester or even a justy or pickup we would love to see you wuth the 22B,P1, WR1,RB5s etc etc
---------------------------------------------------------------
best classic/newage modified are always very well attended and the crowds realy get wild then !!!
best car install last year we did it for the first time and was overwelmed with it and again really pulled in the crowds
hence the new class............................................. ......for this year##
after much thought and delibration and weeks of discussion over this one we are going for the ......
ultimate project/modified car
if you have got the *****/chq book/totall fanatical wildest subaru well this is the class for you
we found that we had so many really well modified cars that we wanted to give others a chance hence normal modifed and super modified
Im not sure and will be nervous who competes in this and how many of you but there will be lots of tropheys and possibly the biggest crowds for this class so if you have converted a classic into a new age or vice versus or put a scooby on steroids ,sold you house to pay for more mods or just live, dream and drive the ultimate subaru this is the class for you this is not for shy rewarding types
------------------------------------------------------------
So the winner and runner up is picked in every class
they go into the final competion for the car of the day and you will see the finest subarus in the uk in one section
and the NBO committe really looks forward to this one !!
and of course we dont forget our charity which is the reason we do the NBO
with 80-100 cars competing in the arena we are asking for a small donation 50p-£1 for the classes as with the money doubled thanks to Chris deal with BAE we have a great chance of beating last years record of £6448 """
Look forward to seeing you in the hallowed arena

Here's where I am with this...
Chances are I'm gonna have a boatload of backlogged work to catch up on, and Ella has a show on the Saturday before the NBO, so camping is looking very unlikely. We will therefore, probably just be turning up on the day and parking in the general area (I'm sure there'll be some other STi8s available for the club stand anyhow)
See you there.

My update. Scarily similar to Stickies.
Apart from work and being here for Katrina, the shop will now be progressed. This is going to take extra time and effort.
Not having the T20 now, obviously rules me out and the only club commitment I have made this month is the F1 testing this coming 25th.
Like Sticky I won't be able to make the camping or show day itself, but will most likely come up to see you all.
Rich, thanks for sorting the extra 48 hours, appreciated.

With the unpredictable weather from this weekend, I've been thinking (careful!) about the shelter, as an estimate we could potentially have around 30+ people at the show on our stand.
Would anyone think it a good idea to take the gazebo as well just incase the weather turns on us? Like this weekend, it was great on Saturday, but today has been a bit crap. If its like that at the NBO, I don't think the caravan and Awning will accommodate everyone. What does everyone else think??

Thing is, I don't think the weather reports are any good at all, the weekend of SSO was meant to be good Saturday and crap the rest and it was hot and clear everyday. This weekend was meant to be clear but has rained all day today. With potentially 30+ people from the WYIOC attending the NBO, its alot to risk on an unreliable weather report.
Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
