hi mate, theres lots of little things, but mainly lower diffs for better acceleration, close ratio gearbox, light weight panels, no electric windows or central locking(saves weight), closed deck block, bigger turbo, 5th injector. basicly if you went to subaru and said you wanted to build a rally car this is what they would sell you, leightweight and much better acceleration. hope this helps mate, im sure other users will read this and ad bits to this tread, scott.

It can get a little confusing to the uninitiated with the early wrx ra's because intil sti's came out later, the very early ra's had no dccd and it is kind of expected that it isnt an ra if it doesnt have it. Also, people mention the aircon/leccy windows/central locking ands get confused seeing it on an RA and then claiming the car not to be one!
The wrx RA's basically were the lightweight version prepared for rally teams to purchase from subaru, as stated above. They came with a 5th injector, intercooler water spray, no aircon, leccy windows or central locking (all 3 of which were factory options so can be found on them, ally bonnet and boot (I believe the only lightweight panels (possibly not the boot either!), no sideskirts, non colour coded (ie black) mirrors and door handles, less sound deadening (not none!), short ratio gearbox and diff.
These are quite "raw" cars and are not suited at all to everyday driving if on a motorway - for exapmple 70mph is about 4500rpm in 5th. The early ones, (looking at my 1993 one) had a redline at 7000rpm and a top spped on the limiter in 5th of 123 as confimred on many a track by me with gps.
They are cracking cars and weighed in standard at 1170kg's iirc, but are easy to get a lot lower. Mine is around 1050kg's and thats with an FIA approved cage fitted as well. Acceleration for th early ra's as standard with 240bhp was around 4.5secs so goes to show what advantage there is in that short ratio box, even if it is at the loss of top end speed. Not sure what mine will do, but with about 350 brake and on slicks running 1.5 /1.6 bar it is savage.
I am looking for a second RA at the monet - just need to shift a VR6 corrado hopefully this weekend and I may well be in contact as the one for sale here looks perfect.
Sorry for the essay and going a bit off the sale topic.
Steve

Thank you for your statement.
But the RA isnt the right for me. Im searching for something more comfortable.
I also own a track Civic. So for daily use it should be a car with full Interior , power windows , Aircon and that stuff
Excuse my bad english. Im a Kraut. But i´ll learn

Yes the Scoob RA is raw...but hell you certainly don't have to worry when coming up behind cars through the twisties, plus when pushed you get the feel of total safety at speed with sheer handling ability & power available to move swiftly.
My only issue is travelling on larger roads such as motorways & the like....but then it's an RA...not a cruising at 80mph+ machine
I love em...

Why your RA dont have this ??
Saw other RA´s with it.
Does it depend on the year they made?
Does it have an AC and is it working?
