I said nope and nope ...
You'd have to be really retarded to think my dog is going to "rip your face off" ...
In all fairness its something I would expect from you

He said "I'm at work so I can't see what picture you posted up, but I'm imagining a bull terrier or Rottweiler. If so, then I'd be wary of it too!"

Being scared of dogs hardly makes people retarded now does it? Thats actually quite offensive.
"In all fairness its something I would expect from you"

I presume GSD is German Shepherd? If so, then they're not normally what I consider particularly dangerous and I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid one.
Mind you Lawrence Dallaglio probably thought the same about his Rhodesian Ridgeback, til it ripped his son's face off!
Truth is, you just never know!

I'm with Snazy on this, I think it's a pretty good idea to have a healthy respect for all dogs, but in particular certain breeds. Certainly nothing to be ashamed of, better safe than sorry!

My mum was bitten by a GSD while walking across a crossing years ago. A few steps in front, well behaved dog, just lunged, bit, and backed off again. Like you say, you never know.
But I am amuzed (lightly of course) by road crossers none the less

Eh. Hang on a minute, im simply telling Paul what you have, and pointing out that some people are paranoid about dogs FULL STOP. You may love your fluffy bundle of joy, but others are wary.

If you think my dog .. not all dogs or any other dog is going to "rip your face off" not bite you or jump up .. then you certainly have a screw missing !!

How about hopping down off your high horse and getting a little closer to the text to read it properly.
I have not for one second said "I" think your dog will rip anyones face off. In fact in the nicest way possible, I think its one of the least scary GSD's I have seen for a long time.
Owning a Malamute that is frequently pointed to, followed by the comment "oh my god its a wolf" and the people crossing or swiftly avoiding being near him, I think I understand the situation fully.
In my opinion, he is hardly scary, just a large lap dog.
As for "rip your face off" I think its actually just a figure of speech, and not a suggestion that a dog will perform surgery on someone to remove their face fully.
With reference to " A dog biting you is a long step from ripping your face off ... in anyones book ! "
Yes it is a fair way apart, however being bitten by an unprovoked dog, walked by a complete stranger is I would say somewhat unacceptable.
Please reserve your rude comments for someone who may actually deserve them, rather than just calling people names for the sake of filling a reply with more words.
Pimmo, did you rate this as negative?? There there..... get over it lol

See Pimmo, some people see a GSD and immediatly imagine it behaving like this image.
Its not being stupid, retarded or any other pathetic term, its just some peoples opinions and perceptions vary from ours as dog owners.

see Pimmo see, I told you, there !!!!
As I have said I am only talking about my "little fluffy puppy" not all dogs or all GSD !
How about from now on you don't reply to my posts .. cause in all honestly I'm not that interested in your opinions.

Na im just a sheep in wolves clothing lol (I like to be different)
Plus I cant lick my *****, so would have been rejected by the pack years ago lol
Pimmo, it might not have been directed at anyone here, but im just concerned that you feel that people afraid of your dog, quite rationally, are deemed by you, in some way retarded.

Some people dont like DOGS.... not MY dog or YOUR dog, just dogs as a whole.
My point is, these people while they seem to act in a wierd irrational way, are simply acting in a way they see fit, and in a natural way of self preservation.
I think it is important for ALL dog owners to respect those who DONT like dogs.
Sorry if you dont like someone saying that there IS reason to be afraid of what you consider your harmless little furball, but im just answering the question you asked.
If you dont like honest answers, dont ask the questions

On a different note Is that a police dog in the pic at a football match?
Pimmo, Snazy, both your dogs are gorgeous and I wouldn't be scared of either. Only dogs Im wary about is the small ones.

lol very true. Just like to point out, I DO have one lol
I will mark you down with the majority list then that is not scared of the smelly little mutt Most people are fine til he takes a liking to them, and lurches towards them, all 6 inches that he manages to get away from me on the lead is enough to change a smile to a grimace.
