Got this:
my thoughts in red

Paul.
For starters i did not intimidate your wife, if anyone was intimidating and ignorant it was your wife. If you knew my wife that would make you laugh
She would not let me get a single word in without talking over me, secondly, none of you had the decency to call my wife back after she had left so many messages. She sent me one text calling me hearless...I treated it with the contempt it was due
And when your wife eventually did have the decency to answer the phone, she had the ignorance to imply that we did not care about the dog.
How so wrong you both are.
You keep going on about feelings.. We love that dog so much and would do anything to reverse the last few months, if any of you had feelings you would understand where we are coming from. And I have on several occasions said that I understood but thought they were wrong
If your wifes parents wanted a dog so much, why didn't they buy one, and we did not want the dog going to an older couple.. Is the crux of this all pound notes now? Given he was willing to leave the dog with a couple he'd met for 10 mins, hours before he left the country I would say he was happy for her to go anywhereAnd Paul you did say you would send me e-mails showing me how she was getting on, i still have your txt on my phone. The pic of the 3 dogs on the sofa whilst things were harmonious got no reply. To me that implied there was very little interest
Lastly i am sure this is all of your wifes doing, selfishness comes to mind, I am positively sure your wife is talking for her parents. As they asked. They were too upset to speak about giving up the dog they love so much. How selfish of us to ensure the health, well-being and happiness of the dog and be in a position to monitor it.
Because your own dogs never got on with Nemo, giving her to relatives was the next best thing to hang on to her! hmm

Don't you think all the dogs not getting on together was probably that Nemo missed our family. No. It was all to do with pack order and the dog was settled from night one, which was unusual
She probably still does. There's a lack of understanding of dogs here

There will not be any more contact between us. That's a blow
I am just so glad i am stuck out in Iraq at the moment...That could almost be construed as a threat....
Hopefully time will heal.. And he'll hopefully realise that a dog was the wrong pet for them

It annoys me the way the dog is seen here as more of a possession. This has soured what is normally a very rewarding thing to do. Some of you may remember I had to re-home one of my dogs. We were always calling to see how Kobe was getting on when he first went as we were concerned he may take badly with being an 'only dog' however we did feel that his character was probably best suited to the situation. We called and asked for more photos and given that he went to a friend of my mothers he spends his/their holidays with my parents. It is always nice to see him however I would NEVER, EVER consider asking for him back. Never have, never would! The dog is happy, I'm happy. If a dog is unhappy you can be sure as $hit I'll do all I can to make things better.
Anyhoo, this seems to be an end to it all however I wouldn't be surprised if I get a home visit at some point and fully expect something to be said to us when we next go shopping and see his sister. It would all be very sad if it wasn't for the fact that the dog is in a stable, loving home.

Paul.

Well done for standing your ground, and putting the dogs well being first, hopefully this will be the last you hear from him, much respect for your caring and compassion towards the dog and it's new owners.
Shaun.
