Id look for a 944 then. They dont sell, few people want them and the interiors on early dash cars are always shredded...

With regards to the Germans, they didnt want us there and they were pissed off because theyd been wound up by a rival event. In 2007 my 944 was a standard fully-trimmed road car with a new MOT. In 2009 it will be bare with plastic windows, race seats and GTS headlamps: we wont be going to Germany again though as itll be a long ferry, according to Ed (Bilbao perhaps?).

Someone else mentioned to avoid germany, sounds like it might be a good idea.

No problems this year. Up through Luxembourg and on to Adenau where we camped and then out towards Arnhem. We did have a letter written in German explaining that we were a charity rally and not a road race mind...

Im looking to paint mine in Maritime blue but it needs doing very economically. If you like 'pink' then Id suggest Rubystone Red.

Oh dear. Assume nothing. If you need any advice nearer to the time then either me or Astraboy will be able to advise you. Im **** when it comes to prep though, so Ive usually got everything covered.

maybe assume was the wrong word.

Def will want to speak more closer to the time mate, will potentially save many probs for us newbies.

GC8: ah was it you and astraboy who did Doc and Martin this year in the scirocco / de lorean?

Btw, if you do the prep work yourself (i.e. primer and flatten it off etc), you should be able to find someone to blow a top coat for like 150-200 quid, I would have thought? I think it's mainly the sanding down of filler, primer etc that takes time and is costly.

Its the prep that counts though. If youve prepped properly then I could paint it and itd turn out alright after finishing...

I bet that this sells for under £500.

Anyway, Ed didnt seem too bothered about all of this years ****-takers in cars which obviously hadnt been bought for £500 or less...
