agreed, 
tacky to the extreme IMO
standard motorolla v3 ringtone on mine, always has been, always will be.
the only one i ever thought was impressive, was the theme tune that plays when the darkstar comes on the screen in starwars (you will know which one i hope?) and my mate had it set to play whenever his lass rang him, quite amusing that one

Everyone at work drops everything and run around in single file when my phone rings
I used to see them as an annoyance etc but then I lightened up and see them as a bit of fun.

For messages I flip between the standard Nokia tone or Bo Selecta's "Check this ****, I'm Michael Jackson" / "Chamone mother ****er"
The ring tone is "Will's Music" from the Chris Moyles show, when it was on in the afternoon. I hate Chris Moyles nearly as much as I hate Coldplay, but that little tune is ok-ish!
