Mine before I lowered it:

Now with Tein S-Techs 35mm at the front and 25mm at the back (I wanted lower, preferably 45-50mm but Tein don't do em, so these will have to do until I get coilies):

Mine on 18's with no lowering, tbh having a splitter also affects the overall appearance of bigger wheels

I think you have to lower the car with 18'' wheels IMO, yes you get a bit of rub with a couple of people in the car though.............

Damn I miss it lol anyway below is a pic of my car now on 18s lowered 30mm...

My advice is don't lower it at all! Unless you want it to rub that is!

dam i wnated those alloys, esp in 18's

looks good.

I think a splitter helps so much, if liek mine and only got stanard bumper, will look pretty high.

good input, some really nice examples

Cool Easy answer...

Leave it in the garage until you can afford to lower it and complete your mission, but in the mean time you can look at everyone elses and look forward to the day when you get to drive around your local town dodging the smallest of cracks in the road,as i do with mine on 18 s and lowered 35 because although it will look the nuts and it will be prepared to buy a few extra tires a year but it dont matter about the money its the smile on ya face that counts.
