Thanks to Tiny for handing me the baton (or should I say Crook? )
And thanks to everyone for their offers of help and support.
As Tiny stated, he's not leaving, and he and Karen will always be Mr & Mrs ESC.
I will just be handling the SIDC side of things, Membership forms, Tickets to shows, convoys etc. So if everyone can point all newbies in my direction so I can issue them with an SIDC application form before Tiny empties their wallets for Pink shirts etc I would be most appreciative.
A club is only as good as it's members, so the ESC must have "probably" the best club members in the world.

Having not a regional club in London at the time it was nice to join the friendly family of ESC and meet even more members that we class as friends too.
Thanks for what you both have done in the past and we hope to still be friends and make more being associated with this excellent club.
Brian good luck and I'm sure as you said (A club is only as good as it's members, so the ESC must have "probably" the best club members in the world.) would like to change that statement not probably but DEFIANTLY

Just to Clarify ......
Firstly thankyou for all your very kind comments , It makes us feel very proud to sit here & read these
Seconndly ..
Let me just clear a few points up ( Before BR14N jacks before he starts !! )
Brian is taking over my SIDC Essex R/O Role , Not the ESC !!
You think we would give that up that easily , Nope we are not going anywhere , We love this place & all its members
Maybe i should of been a little clearer ...
Brians role as SIDC Essex RO Is
1. To liase with other R/O 's & the SIDC Show organisers
2. To make sure that the ESC Has it's allocation of tickets @ Events where the SIDC has a prescence , If the SIDC are not in attendance ( TA Donny ) And if the ESC want to attend tickets / Show parking to be arranged
3. Arrange meeting times / Convoys to & from the shows
4. Welcome new members ( As he does already ) But now with an SIDC Application form
5.lastly Though there are bound to be other points i have missed ) To keep the ESC Firmly under the SIDC Umbrella & to work closely with those mentioned above , Something that i have feel i have let slip over the last 6 + months
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope that clears a few bits up & most importantly allows Brian & Poor ole Tracey to sleep tonight !!
Yes you still got me hounding you for money & taking your orders for pink shirts , How could i possibly live without my 10%
I Just feel i have not filled my role as the Essex R/O To it's full potential ( Maybe im to involved with the ESC As a whole ?
Hopefully Brian taking over this position will take a weight of my shoulders & everyone will prosper
Any q's Fire away

Well yep as the title really , I Have given this lots of thought & consideration and now after 7+ years im now stepping down as the SIDC Essex regional organiser
Firstly i would like to thank you all for supporting the many events that we have arranged locally , Nationally & internationally & i firmly believe that we have put Essex on the subaru enthusiasts map Big time !!
I Feel it's time for some fresh blood to take over & to help keep the liason with the SIDC & ESC As close as it's ever been , Again i would not step down without a replacement already sorted & after a bit of arm twisting & a few words from myself & Phil
BR14N - Has now taken on my old role as the ....
New SIDC Essex Regional organsier
I Would like to wish BR14N All the very best in his new role & long may you continue to support him as well as you have supported me
Long live the SIDC/ESC Combination that we have worked so hard over the years continue
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I Will not be going anywhere & will continue to look after everything ESC and continue to work with Phil & Br14n , But i feel i have lost alot of the motivation , enthusiasm for the events that i once had & do not want to see the ESC Suffer from a result of that , So hence my decision to step down now
Regards Tiny ...

so your comment to me seven years ago when Dal Lloyd handed over the reigns of the FFIC was "Rob it's only temporary" ...
I don't do **** licking and man love but I'd like to say that you did a pretty damn good job in turning a small gathering of nutters into an SIDC integrated (good or not) nationwide collective of hundreds let alone the creation of the 'ESC' brand which is now bigger than probably the SIDC itself!!
I think it would be safe to say that there is no way on earth the club will be the same and I hope you Karen and family enjoy your retirement from the fold.
Hat is off to you matey

Like others it's taken me a while to sit down and relax and think about what's happened.
I don't want to be melodramatic and spout undying man-love it's just a car club at the end of the day...... or is it?
That's the issue - with your character, enthusiasm and drive the ESC has become so much more than just a car club. In fact I don't think we even talk about the cars any more
I remember the days before we got our own forum and we were lumped in with the southern section, oh my god didn't they moan! It was apparent then that the ESC were the most active collective and it's just grown from there.
You've singlehandedly moulded the ESC into a family friendly club and I think it benefits because of that, the ESC branding was inspired and as a result we are known up and down the country. The pink shirts may not have been entirely your choice but your pursuasive powers have ensured that they are seen in abundance.
I really think that the ESC must be the best known section. Look at the tunnel run, we now have people coming from all over the country, quite literally, to attend an ESC labelled event.
You've built up something to be proud of and couldn't have done it without the help of your family. I'm forever scared of talking to Karen now but she is just as responsible for what ahs been achieved
Good luck to Bri4n although he doesn't need it, I can't think of a more suitable replacement. A good guy and someone I'd happily spend time with. If theres one name down first on the events it always Bri4n, no matter what time it may be leaving. Lets all make sure we go out of our way to help him out and make the transition as easy as possible.
Man-luv and gushing over

been thinking of something to type all last night and all day today. Just can't think of anything that expresses what i want to say.
good luck to Brian. You've got a hell of a pair of shoes to fill mate but am sure that you'll manage it. We'll all be here to support you any way we can.

It's easy to get bogged down with running everything and lose interest, only to find you just don't enjoy it any more... so letting Brian have some of the responsibility is probably one of the best things for both the ESC and the SIDC that you could have done.
As Milamber says - the ESC isn't really just another car club - it's a lot more.... I don't regret joining for one second.
Now you will have more time to yourself Tiny, let's see you enjoying yourself even more..... You deserve it.
And to Brian - The best man for the job without a doubt....
Long live the ESC !!

I don't log in for a couple of days and the whole world has changed
I just want to reflect what everyone else has already said realy
It must have been a tough decision to make but it will be nice for you to get a bit of time back to spend with Karen and the family .
I was feeling a bit emotional as I was reading through the posts but glad to know you and Karen will still be heavely involved
Having been involved in the organising of a VW club many years ago I know how much work it intales and that was nowhere near the size of the ESC/SIDC. You guys have truly brought the ESC to legenday status and I think we all owe you a BIG THANK YOU for bringing us together, not just for the cars but the people we have all made some great friends within the ESC .
As for Bri4n being the new Ambassador for the ESC I can't think of a better man for the job . I'm sure you won't need it as I have every confidence in you and Trace, but if you need any help at all Bri don't hesetate to call .
Onward and upward with the new look ESC going from strenght to strengh

What Chris has said, sums it all up nicely for me too.....
Its people like Tiny, Phil, Ed, Frayz, Speccie, Fozzie, Kinquick, Spally and many others that really make the club what it is...
Under the leadership and direction of "The Slim One" we have been treated to lots of different events over the years, and i'm sure Brian is probably the best person for the job.
Long may the club continue to thrive and give us all the laughs we need.
Blimey, i can start laughing again at the thought of any one of those past meets!!!!
Onwards an upwards....
Go on the green wagon......
