fair play your running over 300bhp, more than i had in my old scoob, but sticking a few kg's in the boot or putting a bodykit on could ruin the natural characteristics of the car.

again the above is my opinion (probably a few others too), but i am a purist. i dont do bodykits/neons/bling rims/subs etc, as i personally prefer a nice clean standard looking car with plenty of power.

i dont see how having a show car with a bodykit or over 300bhp is any fun to drive as wouldnt you be paranoid of damaging it when you gave it beans... like the car was originally designed to do, not be stood on a stand shining to the crowds
yea bet them neons weigh the car dwn no end

read the post again i was referring to the weight of i.c.e. and things like bodykits, which although possibly not a weight gainer, may alter the areodynamics of the car... especially if its a monstrousity like the following...

thing is the body kit that has jsut been fitted weighs no more thans the standard bumpers sides skirts that were on there if not it weights less lol y would it get damaged anymore than the normal bumpers on there when you give it bean i expect to get stone chipps but no more than waht i would get with the standard stuff on there

fair enough the install does weigh a bit but its a small sacrifice fair neough the car does not go on tracks but then i would not of taken it on there when it was standard

i think a awful lot of people on this site put there cars that they spend a lot of there time cleaning on stands at shows

At the end of the day its his car and he can do what he wants! Its not my thing but i wouldnt slate the guy for posting his car up for all to see. He is proud off his car and has probably spent alot and worked hard to get to where its at!
Thats the problem with this website too many so called purists, if your a purist why the **** modify your car then, its nor pure if its modified is it?

Chocolate, i bet you wouldnt slate it if he was paying you to draw it would you eh?

business is business regardless of what i was asked to draw, so the above is a stupid comment to make just because i dont like say the styling side or the neaons etc, if dan genuinely approached me to put his car onto paper, i would be a fool to turn down extra business. this is regardless of the car, colour, shape etc.

put it this way, if someone in a chavved up corsa with spinners, 25 12" subs, a jdl ebay bodykit and burberry paint job asked me to immortalise their car, i wouldnt turn it down. but it doesnt stop me having an opinion.

that would all depend on the weight of the install; there is going to be a massive difference between a full on MDF boot install and say a stealth woofer or Infinity Bass link

lmfao, this thread is so predictable. Ive got blue neons, leds and a fat ice install. if anything the ice helps it hold the road. You are not alone. Neons are for the younger and more fun loving people on here tbh . Fast and the furious all the way lol. Its a great film. will post up pics later.

erm... im 23 and when i had my scoobs (from the age of 21) i tried to dis-assicoate myself with all the chavs with neons/lexus lights etc, which in scunny do the usual rounds at maccy d's every night.

trust me im fun loving but i dont need silly lights or abnoxiously loud speakers to enjoy what is in fairness a road going rally car.

i give up with this place... the masses have taken over id best go buy a baseball cap and some sony subs

fact - its not a road going rally car. it was just based around one.

subs (sony inparticular) - very good value for money and allow you to also feel the music.

ps. i know i said younger but i meant slightly more immature, im 22 lol.

with regards subs etc, not doubting theyre good for the music experience, i dont find a car full of them in the boot to be much of an experience.

i have all my music equipment upstairs in my studio. being a dj, i know exactly where your coming from, but i dont see the point in having a huge ice system drowning out the naturally loud scooby exhaust note.

i just think "plank" when those kind go round with steroe on full whack, black tinted windows down, baseball cap on full show, and a nice loud exhaust to make it sound a right din.

but the above is going off topic. the o.p.'s fairy lights were the original starting point. i and others dont like them, some do... pretty much end of topic

very true.
I think that if people dont like em. dont put a sh1tty reply saying how crap it looks, just walk on. its that easy. SN is awful due to this, is just one slate after another. Regional forums are way better. more formal.

ps, you cannot make "a right din" with a scooby exahust anyway lol. and i sometimes wear baseball caps. (just not with umbro or nike on them etc lol)

it would be super dull if everyone's cars looked the same but you should be able to be honest about the reasons you have gone down a certain route and then deal with the praise\fall out...heavy ICE install to aid handling, that's stretching things a little

well said, if you want your car to be different now-a days, leave the bugger standard well bar exhaust anyways

hmmmm i dont see how neons etc make u a chav sure the definition of chav is

Chav (pronounced /ʧæv/) also Charv/Charver (pronounced /ʧɑːv/) are mainly derogatory slang terms in the United Kingdom for a stereotype fixated on low quality or counterfeit goods. It commonly refers to those belonging to a youth sub-culture, often stereotypically associated with a low socio-economic class, a striking dress sense and criminal activity.

i might be wrong here but the fact i have spent in excess of 15k on my car i have a good job and work hard live in a nice area fair enough still my parents but dont see how that makes a difference i do not par-take in any criminal acitvity but because i have green leds to make show off my engine bay and i have a big boot install at other end and a body kit makes me a chav

so basically millionaires who have huge systems in there cars etc are chavs as well hmmm so how dont see that

at the end of the day its down to personal taste basicall your saying here anyone who takes there cars to shows have modified it but a install in it are chavs hmmmmm i think thats not right some how

i think its time to go put some more lights on my car maybe one day u'll be able to se it from the moon lol

im sure mine aint gonna slip and slide through the corners, sticks like glue cos of the extra 5kgs or so. got the extra bhp so it isnt that slow either. its all worth it in the end.
simple if you dont like his car dont go and slag it off. its alot of effort and work that hes put into it so dont knock him back. just say well done (in a nice way for once)

theres way too much arrogance on Sn,

no you see the problem is all these newbies who post pics up of their modifications seem to think that all they will get is praise and "well done" for doing something different.

why dont you guys change the record and realise that "different" brings both crititism and praise

jesus is it that hard to explain.

best way to settle this out would be to take your car to a weigh bridge and then to a reputable rolling road then you could tell us exactly what your power to weight ratio is...can't argue those facts.

J200WRX you are missing the point; if you don't want to hear negative opinion don't post it's a (well relatively these days), a free country so lets all have our say and if you aren't tough enough to deal with the arrogance, (or is that just a different opinion?), don't post
