I wear my Gary Glitter Gang Show t'shirt, take my bag with my sandwiches and flask too far into my armpit, wear one of those Casey Jones hats, farah slacks with a key chains, cycle clips, big thick glasses, that keeps the little f*ckers away from me.

Its amazing, Paedos are a tiny minority but go near anyones kids, even if the little buggers come up to you, parents tend to assume that you are a predatory pervert, especially Chavs, sorry but I am not a Paedo and if I were your little morbidly obese, smelly, foul mouthed, snotty nosed, objectionable offspring would put me off for life now keep the foul creature away from me !

was walking into currys once and the guy in front was going in with his toddler. bloke goes through the turnstile and the kids follows, then the toddler does a U-turn and walks back under the barrier.

For the father the exit was about 10 yards away so I followed the toddler out the shop as his dad couldn't get to him. I followed him about 20 yards down the street right behind him to stop him if he were in danger. I daren't touch him to stop him so just followed until his dad could catch up.

I have two kids (at the time were two years old) and I still dare not "stop" this toddler in case the father got the wrong end of the stick.

sad but true.

I think its a very sad situation if people wont help children in distress 'just in case' they get labelled a paedophile, which I really dont think is that likely.

To put it in perspective - how would you feel in this situation...

You find a young girl wandering alone crying, looking lost - you decide NOT to go and help her find her mother, or take her into a nearby shop / find a copper etc... The next day you see on the news that her body has been found, raped and dumped.

Because you or any other passers by didnt help her, a real paedophile came along that was the result. Could just as easily be that the child wandered into the road and was hit by a car.

Would you sit there happy that at least you didnt cause yourself any hassle by taking 10 minutes of your time to help ?

And for any fathers - your daughter has wandered off and got lost while out shopping - you search frantically and find her tearful with a stranger ( man or woman ) who looks like they are comforting her - is your first reaction really going to be to run over fists flying ??? ( possibly if you are mentally challenged and go through life with a serious paranoid complex ! ) or are you going to be happy someone has found her and is helping, rather than lettering her wander off alone ?

I wouldnt think twice about helping a child if they looked lost - if you are sensible about it you arent leaving yourself open to any accusations - in a shopping centre find a security guard or go into the nearest shop and get a member of staff. If you are a male alone and worried, find an older respectable looking woman to stay with you.

Personally I dont like little kids much, but unfortunately seem to be like a magnet for them and the little s0ds always pick me as the one they want to play with and jump all over.

Mike, you are right of course, I know I am not a paedo, I know the kid needs help and hopefully the parents will recognise that, that however, is secondary to them being safe.
