Not that much just a bit of a spark. So it's the dump valve that gives the flames?

The dump valve doesn' give you any flames. It's the fact that it dumps the air from the intercooler, instead of recirculating it. Because of this the ECU is led to believe their is a larger amount of air being drawn into the engine at that current point in time and fuels accordingly.

This fuel ignites in the exhaust system and usual results int the odd pop and bang.

In effect yes, due to the overfuelling effect when it vents. Basically if you want you're car to pop and bang and spit flames, you'll need it overfuelling or retard the ignition. The latter being mainly for anti-lag set ups and will most likely require a new ECU.

Ash have a watch of this short video clip & you will see & hear just how much noise a large number of Scoobys can produce.

YouTube - Essex Scooby Crew make some noise.

When the camera angle is from behind you will see some flames.

Blue @ 2.25 / Red @ 2.33 / Blue 2.56 / Blue 3.28 (in distance right hand lane)

What's this anti-lag then? I obviously get what it is going to do but am wondering what it is exactly...

Do you get much lag on your 2.5? I don't since having it remapped.

If the vta makes your exhuast pop/backfire doesn't it mean the tenson of the the dump valve is set too weak?

but to my point, in that vid does it prove that everyone who flamed on that video, did they have spark plugs in their exhaust?? my original point was that iv never met, or spoke to any scoob owner on here or in person, who has put a spark plug in their exhaust, ive seen plenty of scoobs flaming, that wasnt my original point. 20withascooby is the only person i know who has had a spark plug in their scooby exhaust.

so how many people have a spark plug in their backbox to encourage flames??? i wanna do a poll thing to see how many, but dont know how to do a poll

A127 into Southend every first Saturday of the month.

I would say most of those have the spark plug flamer kit.

This is one I did of the guys setting off from the pre-meet. Look out for the Pulsars & a Lotus.

YouTube - EXODUS OF THE ESSEX BOYZ FROM BASILDON

Going back to your original point. I think the cheapest/easiest way to get flames was with a decat, a VTA dump valve & a flamer kit (spark plug). The same can be done as part of a remap but is not worth the expense if all you want is some flames.

Ash, pop down to the local meet, everybody welcome, Evos and more sometimes. Keep your peepers on the Midlands section, normally 1st Sunday of month. We even have another green one

As for modded cars, we all have done something, the most extreme being Pavlo and Liz from Zen, when they brought the Blue Beastie down once, that does flame and no silly spark plug in the exhaust either.
