I think overall its a good series of threads which allow companies know what their customers think. Generally most companies are getting good feedback, with some minor niggles, which any decent company wanting to improve their customer relationship would want to take onboard and try to rectify.

unless there is a well concealed and concerted effort to bad mouth a particular trader, then surely the only people that will lose out are those that have something to hide? It will also be interesting to see how the various owners deal with any issues that arise, regardless of whether they think they are real or manufactured...in my experience its not how truthful\accurate the claims are, its the way in which they are dealt with that gives the biggest insight.

IMHO

the Voters should be shown there is an option for that
I agree totally and am sorry that I didn't set the polls up like that in the first place ... it would have been fairer. I have tried to change that setting, but it does not seem to allow any changes to the poll settings once they have been posted. I am happy for the mods to change this if they are able to on all polls started by me.

I agree. With the number of people on SN, it will give a realistic view as more votes are added (i.e. if a few people try to bad mouth a particular company unjustly, that should not have much of an effect overall). Also remember everyone can only vote once and as far as I am aware, new users are not able to vote ... so those trying to register extra accounts just to mess with the results will have a hard time.

To Andy97, thanks very much for jumping in and adding some of the companies I missed. I have been pm'd a very extra requests, so will try add those companies a bit later.

Also thanks to those traders that have seen this in a positive way, as it was intended ... I have been offline since yesterday and was sort of expecting a backlash, but have been relieved by most peoples comments.

STiFreak,

The only backlash is of you spamming the general forum.

Keep such threads in the respective forum (D&TP) please.

Normal rules apply.... anything that causes ScoobyNet issues will be removed, and not because of some smart alec suggesting this because some are advertisers

Shaun

Shaun,

Why has the "voting" option been removed ?

Shaun,

I do appologise for that. I wanted to setup these in Dealer and 3rd Party forum, but polls are not enabled in that forum. Can you please enable them, so folks can continue to vote.

Mark / STiFreak

I need to check whether that was done for a specific reason or just an oversight when the forum was created.

Webbie,

In the interests of fairness to all suppliers concerned, and to try and stop some of the unfair voting, are any of these possible -

1) Change the polls to remove the anominity. Already it seems one particular company has more than it's fair share of detractors, some of whom i'm sure are doing it for the wrong reason.

2) Delete all the votes that have been cast, that have not been backed up by a post, wether it be positive, neutral, or negative.

2) Group all the seperate threads together. Wether this means stickying them all or creating a sub forum.

Little bit uncomfortable with this situation. It's a bit "Trial by Scoobynet"
You could have the situation that two voters cast "poor" votes, one voter says "good" and you have a 66% "poor" rating! Unless you study the true situation that only three people voted, you think the company is crap!
I bet the firms not mentioned are relieved?

John, the number of votes are quite clearly listed next to the percentage, so I think most people would not consider judging a company based on only 3 votes.

As I have said several times, I regret allowing the voting to be annonymous, but I was not able to change that option once the polls were setup. I would be happy for the mods to change it, but I also understand (as has been discussed in the SN policy forum), that some users feel so intimidated by their experiences that they do not want to vote openly for fear of a backlash. It's a difficult one.

I have been asked to add some companies that folks have noticed are missing, which is only fair enough, so polls for the following companies have been added:
Andy Forrest Performance
Engine Tuner
JD Performance
Harvey Performance
Godspeed
Graham Goode Racing
Scooby Bits

All polls now open in Dealer and Third Party Forum.

One would certainly hope that's true!

Power Engineering? One of the originals, they were one of the top places for Ford but anticipated the rise of the Jap craze back in the mid-late '90's
