Been to see one today and I don't think I could do it, seems well built, well designed and quite funky but I don't think I could unless it was the wifes car, that and a derisory price for my Saab, I aint changing to a weedy 1.2 slightly effete car unless I save money and a cost of £3500 to change put paid to that !
The paint on it appeared to have been applied by roller and I thought it must be because its built down to a price, but I had a look at a 28k Alfa Brera special edition and that was worse, totally unaceptable orange peel, uneven, disgraceful, a Micra has superb paint for 6 grand, why cant Alfa do it for 5 times that, and the interior trim was crap.

I like the new 500. It's the old school of thought like the original 500 and the original mini. I.e. it's a car for the masses. The engines are good, it looks stylish and it's cheap. The BMW designed MINI is far more expensive and therefore is no longer a car for the masses.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a masculine looking car (but then it was never designed to be). If fuel ever doubles its current price I would happily buy a new 500. I may be alone in thinking that but maybe not as it also won car of the year recently.

Mate get it bought. Buying stuff that pigeonholes you when you don't really give a stuff is part of the fun anyway.
If the stereotype follows, the guy in my local petrol station thinks I am (in order) a

Nah, not buying one, not at the moment, cant justify spending 3 and a half grand to get one, nevermind loosing 4 grand on what I paid for mine last year, never mind the remap its had, I am not giving it away, I can still afford to run it. I suppose I could sell mine privately but again might struggle to get that much more. Dealers are convincing people that big cars are worthless, ok they cost more to run but you can still bet that mine would get me 5 grand but it would end up for sale at 8 grand the followiing week.
This is the biggest cost associated with the fuel prices for me as I dont use it that much.

nice little car's them, At the moment with fuel cost's i have put insurance and MPG first, I drive a 1.0 micra, Coming from fuel guzzler's and getting 260 mile's around town on £30 is better than a quick car sucking your wallet all the time.
Tiny car's are selling like hot cake's now, 3 year's ago i was laughing at micra's, Now i'm driving one, Times are changing now.
People are avoiding big engine's. And i don't blame them.

Was watching a repeat of Top Gear the other night on Dave when JC was reviewing the EVO VIII and Blobeye STI, he said they were man's cars and that the names were wrong, it should be the Mitsubishi Oi Did You Spill My Pint and the Subaru Lets Sort This Outside Now
