Does that mean I have to pay higher tax on my 96 classic as it was not registerd in the UK until 2005.

I'm currently on the lookout for a Scoob and kept thinking should I get one or not, mainly because of the road tax, but from what I see any car with a 2.0L engine (which I would probably have anyway) and above is going to be £310 per year when the higher rates come in so for the sake of another £100 a year (£8 per month) I think **** it, long time dead and all that.
Don't get me wrong I don't agree with it at all and it's one big rip off but as long as I’m not getting in debt doing it and nothing else suffers then I won't let the tax prices put me off, not for the price difference anyway.
Thankfully I only do about 7-8000 miles a year so petrol isn't too bad for me although thats also a rip off!

basically any car that doesnt have the co2 emissions on the V5 will be in the lower tax band.If it states the co2 on the v5 the tax band will be based on this assuming it was registered after 2001 (from 2009/2010)
