40K is just too much, especially in the current economic conditions.

What I need is an STI with proper wheels 18" @ £1000, Sat NAV and Blue Tooth @ £1740 and some better power, lets say £1700 as that is what the current PPP costs.

Total £ 26595 + 1000 + 1740 + 1700 = £ 31,035 OTR

So what the hell does the other £9,000 buy.

Also there are already dealers offering £2,000 off so I can get what I want for £29,000

anyone realised how much the FQ400 was new for 400bhp............................in the region of £47k if I remember.

So £40k for a manufacture warrantied 400bhp scoob is realistic.

Difference was that the 22B is one of the best looking cars Subaru has ever made, this new one on the other hand...............

Fair point... but I remember everyone HATING the UK300... and now people are quoting "great looking car mate" when one pops up on here.

Blob eyes were shunned by the classic guys.... and the blobs were only accepted because it was an improvment on the bugs!

We Subaru owners are a fickle lot that's all I'm saying.

(and yes the 22B is the best looking scooby ever)

How many have been sold at the normal price? I still haven't seen a new WRX or STi and I commute 120 miles a day including 40 miles on the M25! From that I would surmise that they are hardly flying out of the shoowrooms so who would spend £40k on one
That said, the scooby community (yes, that includes me) are slightly bonkers

£45k

IIRC. I was going to get one, or go travelling. I opted for the latter.

But the STI (in any form) is never going to be a volume seller, especially in the current climate. I'm sure economies of scale have will be factored into the selling price for a 400bhp model. No doubt they could lower the price if they knew they would sell several thousand a year. As it is I suspect it will be a pretty exclusive car so £40K if that is accurate is not a bad price.

Still, I'd like to have seen about 330+ from the regular PPP kit to keep it inline or better than the lower end of the Evo's but I suspect I'll get the kit whatever the number is, in fact I can't wait for an official update/release.

Is there much in the way of aftermarket parts for the MY08 yet?

I don't think there's a huge amount available in the UK yet.

Milltek have realeased an exhaust for UK and JDM and Litchfields / Powerstation have tuning packages.

They are working on a AST suspension setup too I believe.

Cheers.

I've seen 2 STI's and 2 WRX's in my travels over that last month.

But I got my Blob eye STI back in Late Feb 2003 and it was 3 months before I saw another...

Edited to add... and I've had 2 newage wave at me..sorry guys..out of practice and missed u both... (Porsche drivers never waved and I'd stopped watching) so the 2008 cannot be THAT ugly or is it I'm very cute...

Hmm 40K for a 400bhp Proton/Focus/Astra/BMW1 Series hybrid or a TVR Sagaris........

As many others have said no scooby or evo should get anywhere near that price range.

Check out the forums on the Sagaris, its a different animal to previous models, what a car it is.

Something about the likes of TVR and Noble that I just love, drive any model and you will see what I'm on about.
