The MOT is the state of the car on the day of the MOT. My car is decatted and heavily modified, all of which has been declared to my insurance company.

I actually like reading about who come up against what and how they fared, but obviously in this day and age, you just have to be careful what you say.
Ive also got a question to ponder......A LOT of scoobs are totally de-catted which means they will 99.9% of the time FAIL an MOT....an MOT is a requisite to drive your car on public roads.....now how many ppl have "de-catted" wrote in their scooby profile? A lot...thats how many, any cozzer on here who got the hump with someone could also take that further if they wanted to...no? especially if the policemans patch/work area was situated where a particular user lived......just a thought...........

It's potentially even worse than that mate.
If you're not driving a road legal vehicle, then surely your insurance is invalid? I wonder if some companies might refuse to pay out in the event of a claim, even if the mods had been fully declared. I think the decat peeps are in a "grey" area TBH. That's why I put a sports cat on mine.

If it happened to me, Id turn around and simply say I was bullsh1tting about doing those speeds, how are they going to prove it without video evidence, It must be hard to convict someone of an offence from just one thread...with no actual proof.....
Same with ppl with pics up of undersized plates etc, they are illegal at the end of the day.......
What Im getting at is this.......take what someone says with a pinch of salt, he says he was doing those speeds etc......what proof is there except his words typed on here (hopefully no incrimiating evidence...lol) -
ppl on here saying watch what your saying....maybe some should take down there pics of small no' plates and modification listing "full de-cat" to avoid being a hypocrite......its as illegal as it is to drive over the speed limit as far as im concerned, yes, not anywhere nr as dangerous....but still somethign you'd get a pull for...

I have an original P1 exhaust with cat converter in my garage, so no problem at all. I'd imagine I'd have to resubmit for an MOT in the unlikely event of a roadside test.

Mines decatted for normal day-to-day use etc but when I've booked my MOT everything's changed and it's got the cat put back on to make sure it passes. Sometimes the cat doesn't even come off, just depends on what I'm using it for...e.g track days etc.
PMSL you can't tell me he supposedly beat a Porsche in a SPORT!!! I'm not taking the p!55 outta Sport owners in anyway shape or form, an old mate of mine had one but just upgraded to a turbo...anyway either he's bullsh!tting about this whole thing OR that's one heavily modded Sport BUT if it is and he'd declared everything to the insurance company he'd be paying the same as a WRX or STi which means buying one of them would have been easier in the long run but each to their own if this is true.

Well, your quite right, I mean for someone to actually do this via scoobynet and take action on it, it would be pretty sad and petty, but if the police would go as far as using posts to try and convict someone....

With regards to the de-cat, no' plate issue I brought up, I was just being pedantic really, but im sure the chances of being more inconvenienced by the cozzers than anythign are very real if we were to think about it, I have small plates, stuck on, plus a de-cat....at some point I know ill get a pull for the plates....

LOL I can't believe this thread got to 5 ages before someone realized the OP has a sport!!!
Some Sport owners can be a bit deluded though. I had one approach me in a car park the other day and compliment me on the car.
"That one's mine over there"....He said, "It's the same as your, but with no turbo".
I didn't have the heart to tell him!

I started my Impreza life in a sport... great little cars... but not quick even by 1999 standards (got left behind regularly by V5 golfs etc)... and now, the average 130bhp 1.9TDI would see one off.... still a great car though...just accept it's a psudo motor..

Seems to have edited his profile. Last time I looked at it he had a red 03 newshape with a big spoiler on the back. Now it's supposedly a 1990 sport? Along with the total edit now of his opening two posts I feel the guy realises the errors he's made. Maybe he might think twice before racing another car at 130 mph on a wet Glasgow public highway then posting the antics on here.
