Round here we see the Beluga flying into Hawarden regularly to pick up wings for the smaller Airbus' and that's a sight to behold. It always looks like it's going very, very slowly.

Fail to see what all the fuss is about.
747s have had upper decks for years- best place on the plane , hands down.
This thing is just an overblown whale, crammed full of econochav, and its an airbus, which i dont particuarly like anyway generally.
Just a couple of the reasons I wont be flying it.
All IMHO of course

If you can see the thing through the rain clouds..... ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Will be impressive no doubt. A South African airlines 747 did a display a couple of years back there and that was great! Seems crazy seeing a passenger airliner flying around at low level doing sharp turns etc!

Do it. They normally turn it round pretty quickly (about an hour) so you can see it land then take off again without too much hanging about. It looks weird taking off as it just looks as though it's never going to build enough speed up.

The Typhoon with the Red Arrows was awesome - we were (perhaps unwisely, with hindsight!) stood right under the flightpath when the typhoon lit up both reheats and stood the aircraft on its tail!

I collected some frames today for Galvanizing, I asked the Guy loading if it was true that these are for the transportation of the A380 Airbus wings, Yes they are going to Toulouse for fitment

I've been in one of those, it's staggering how big it is. Even when flying it's so big it looks like it's hardly moving, looks more like an airship.

I go there quite often too. Do the yanks still use it as a transit base for airliners full of GI's on their way to Iraq? It was teaming with them once when I was there. I don't think the Irish authorities were very pleased by the whole thing.
