Hi zs phil,
Know the feeling but going to keep trying. According to autotrader mine is the cheapest blue low mileage WRX for 100 miles so am hoping it will go eventually. Fortunately my finances have improved somewhat recently so I am in no rush. It is on a dealers forecourt in Werrington so it is not even in my way and I don't have to wash it,
Thanks for the free bump.

Just things keep going wrong, first the water pump, which required a cam belt change at the same time, then the crank shaft oil seal, then the crank pulley fell off ruining the power steering belt and requiring some major repair work and lots of other things. I think I'm off to buy an Audi

Oh yeah, I remember, I posted on your problems last week. Have you had the pulley fixed yet?
Audis are nice motors, had a Y reg coupe GT for nearly a decade and loved it. Bought it when the XR3 was considered a quick car. How times have changed

I've had it repaired now yeah but I've just lost heart for the car now. I really thought that buying a scooby, supposedly ultra reliable, would be the end of my car woes. As much as I love it I've grown to hate it just as much now so I might be getting a 2.8 V6 Quattro A4 or A6
