Courier of large items
#31
but not low enough to make a difference I've a few customers who use us as well as e-courier so I've an idea on their mileage rates enough to say we usually get the work
As for the boxes what weight are they, if the per piece weight is below 35kgs then most overnight carriers will take them without the legs on in 2 boxes with those dimensions. Obviously you'll need to spend more on packaging but you'll get savings on the carriage. Most will only be one person deliveries though if they are towards 35kgs then they won't want to take them past the front door. But perks are that you should get them on a next day delivery for @£30, I find APC are one of the better overnights that you can actually get through to by phone if you get problems,

I'll still have to drive it up/down at the minute though.

I had thought about sending the legs seperately to reduce the delivery.
Thanks Puff, i'll try Dode in FurryBoots.

sending the legs separately won't make any difference its the piece weight thats the issue due to manual handling regs it either needs a tail lift or two men for the delivery.
ANC used to be cheap for heavy items but got bought out by Fed EX. I'd try them and DHL who bought the old securicor who also used to handle heavy weights. With the legs off the size of the tables will be far less of an issue
P.s Dode is in Inverness very helpfull but not sure it will be cheap enough and every delivery will vary cost wise unlike finding an overnight carrier who will take the items
