There's at least one Mitchell flying.

Quite a few shots of ww2 aircraft here - including the Mitchell, but no Lanc. Duxford 2008 - Pistonheads

lol do us a favour

hes prolly partaken in a few sherberts whilst sloughed out on a deckie in what we call summer - hes hardly able to tell 2 props from 16

Well you've surprised me there spider, I thought all the airworthy ones (of which there are more than few) were stateside.
Having said that, one or two of the other planes on that site are normally US based

A Lancaster flew over Manchester a couple of weeks back, something to do with the Veterans day celebrations. I live in the Beetham Tower, (the big tall building in Manchester if you don't know it) and I thought the damn thing was going to fly right into my apartment it was that low.

I could make out the pilot, any closer and I'd have been able to tell his eye colour!

I think the Americans have just flown the replacement for the Liberty Belle over here. The pilot's father was the tail gunner in the original one.

landed at prestwick a few weeks back as i was doing a garden right under the flight path in line with the runway,you get used to the noise of jumbo's goin overhead at low height but that was something else
