Your lucky i wasnt in the passenger seat of one of the cars, cos i would have "accidentally" opened my door just before you passed us, and stopped you in your tracks!
I do hope you are joking - that would be tantemount to murder

I kind of agree with GC8WRX, (can't beleive I just said that ) as 52 in a 30 is seriously stupid on a push bike (although Kieran was young at the time and we all did that)

However this is bang out of order

BUT, his tough 'I hate all cyclists' chat, doesn't merit an infraction, we just need to treat him delicately on all matters cycling as he appears to have 'special needs' in that department

Couldnt give a **** about the infraction!

I was only joking when i said id open a door, im not that crazy, but i wouldnt have any sympathy if someone did!

If someone posted they were in an impreza doing 52 in a 30 undertaking people, they would get flamed!

To me this is just another cyclist who shouldnt be on the road! (like 90% of them)

Sipie, your slowly working me out mate, i am a complicated fellow!

It's a pity you're not less insulting.

The road in question is very wide with plenty of room to undertake, but then of course you would know this being in full possession of all the facts
Are you now saying that since you have achieved your present age and are "a bit wiser" that you agree that what you did then was a silly action and that the copper was quite right to bollock you?

Its just that your original post did not give that impression.

Didnt realise it was so many years ago, but undertaking is a mugs game, full stop!

People who undertake on bikes are the people who get wiped out when a car turns left without seeing you, and then they blame the car!

At least your older AND wiser, i just get older!

well, back to the subject matter (for a second), i'm gonna take a cycle over to Bunny Hill this eve (anyone around Notts should know of it - about the steepest I can think of) and see what I can get out of the bike before I lose my bottle!

I've just gone down Marshall Hill at 29 but bottled it when the bus pulled out I checked the speedo earlier and it says the top speed ever was 33, although I don't remember that. I suspect it was through Gedling or Mapperley.

I'll have to take a trip over to Bunny, I haven't been out there in years.

52 in a 30 is slow compared to the speed some of the motorbikes that go past my house off up to the the cat and fiddle everyday. I'd rather have 100,000 push bikes going past at 52 mph than 1 motorbike going past at over twice the speedlimit.

There was a road dropping down into Dorking that we used for training and I could get just under 60 mph on that. A guy joined the club and insisted on using a fixed gear bike
The inevitable happened one day down this slope and he left quite a bit of skin behind.

Forget about fancy light bikes for going down hill - use the heaviest bit of iron you can find or take on loads of water bottles at the top. Its your aero position that dicates max speed.

I've just checked my speedo - for some insane reason it is showing a max speed of 78mph.

I'm sure I would've remembered going that fast!!!

Methinks my wheel cleaning had the magnet roll over the sensor REALLY quicky
