Please remember I have never stated the landings were faked however, some of the official pictures look odd, that's all.
Maybe there was not enough blast to form a crater. Was there enough dust to allow what looked like a crater to form?

The Lem was pretty lightweight and the gravity on the moon is also weak.

The LEM, on earth, weighed 17-ish tonnes. On the moon, 3-ish tonnes. That's a mighty engine to maintain a 3-ish tonne object "floating", while finding a place to land.

The LEM had a thrust to weight ratio of 2.06 on the moon.

Did not know it was that heavy. Pete Conrad was telling me that he was bollocked for picking up too much moon rock to bring back!

That's still a big rocket. Or do think that's not the case?

I am not sure about the capsule, but they "left" lots of stuff behind. No point carrying summat back if it is of absolutely no use on the trip!!!

Sensible to leave non required stuff behind. Must have had a fair bit of poke. It took off like a "jack in the box" I seem to remember.
