Bolt, and Powell for that matter, and of course Phelps have been tested at least 40 times this year.

i recon sub 9 seconds is on the cards

8.9 by the seasons end.

He won't get anywhere near sub 9 seconds. The record has taken 30 years to go from 9.93 to 9.69.

I think Bolt has a faster time in him (evident from the relative ease with which he ran his time) but to even bring that down to 9.60 would require an enourmous effort.

That doesn't prove anything. I believe that there is no definitive test for HGH at the moment, plus there are bound to be 'designer' steroids that are just undetectable at this point in time.

Look at Dwain Chambers. He only got caught after an anonymous sample of THG was sent to a testing lab. After that they were able to produce a test for it.

It's also possible that he is just that quick too.

If he used performance enhancing drugs (lets face if he used weed etc then he deserves a medal for running that quick in that state!) then kill him till he dies of it lol.

Im believing he is clean until shown otherwise.

He better be clean now after all this!!

BBC SPORT | Olympics | Athletics | Video - Bolt qualifies second in 200m

200m = 20.64s

WR = 19.32

He did jog the last 50m or so though so probably saving himself for final.

I dont think he'll crack it, he's only done a 19.6+ seasons best so far this year.

What got me was the chuntering in the studio about 'was it disrepectful to the other competitors to showboat'

Get off! Would have been even better if he did that last 10m backwards.

Anyway.Well done son.

Amazing sprint!

He was easing up some 30m before the end, looking left and right, then beating his chest with 15m to go.

Then consider that he apparently (I heard) had to slowest reaction time from the block as well. Basically won it in the 30m-70m marks!!

I think a 9.5 is possible.

the most amazing thing for me was the midrange distance. as said above 30-70 metres the pack was flat out and he literally dropped a gear and accelerated away from them. Amazing.

I dont think there is a sub 9 second, however I reckon the way he eased up, he definately lost a few tenths there. I reckon there is a 9.4 in him at least

was miles ahead in that too, i think michael johnson was a bit pissed at that, even though he said the contrary, you could tell he was gutted.

Damn, I thought this was a 1/4 mile topic, not some rabbiting on about running around in a communist hell hole.

This is the first news I've read about that stupid sports event.

I'm stunned. I really didn't think he had the 200M record in him, I thought that record was going to stand for 20 years.

Well done Bolt!
